Re: Developer Blog
We don't deserve updates because we didn't pay them for kickstarter. ;) If I was them I would be giving up citing the reason as the people who whinge on the forum expecting something for nothing and feeling they have a right to demand news / features / updates / free software from people who are de...

Hmmm so it wasn't you who wrote... it probably ought to be totally free imo. and this... I'm kind of glad the Kickstarter didn't go through if this is the kind of customer service we are getting. and this... From what they said previously, it seems like we should have an alpha version in our hands b...

Re: Developer Blog
I think some people on here need a reality check. These guys are developing this in their own time, unpaid with families to support and one team member less. Stop bleeting like stroppy teenagers, expecting something for nothing. Get a grip and stop being ungrateful and impatient.

Re: Developer Blog
While I don't believe that's what happened it this case, there has been some pretty crazy stuff that's happened with other Kickstarter projects. Again, the way to solve the problem is some transparency... I'll obviously be equally appalled if it turns out to be true, possibly more so but to post th...

Really hope everything is ok with Kimmo.
Also glad to hear that the team isn't disheartened by missing out on the KS goal or some of the negative comments by a small number of people.

Re: Pay or not to Pay
Now, here's a question. Could it be possible to make it so that people host their own races on their computer rather than through an online server? Not sure how your question relates to the poll but yes this is how a lot of multiplayer games work but I *think* you still need a matchmaking server bu...

Re: GeneRally 2 - Kickstarter Launched
this is al bla bla bla and wasted energy. It's up to dev team to decide what is best to do, after all they are creating the game. Lets hope will have GR2 in the near future for everyone to enjoy. Whilst you are correct that it doesn't really make anyone make a decision one way or another I still th...

Pay or not to Pay
After much discussion as to what went wrong with the GR2 Kickstarter Campaign, the topic moved to whether GR2 should be free, a demo with a pay premium version or just a pay version. Whilst it is obviously up to the developers what they do with GR2, I thought a quick poll would make for interesting ...

Re: GeneRally 2 - Kickstarter Launched
The Kickstarter failed because.... To be brutally honest in my opinion you are spot on there. The core fans will happily overlook these points in hope of getting what we are confident will eventually exist. But those core fans aren't going to fund this project enough on their own (obviously includi...

only way to save the spirit of the first generally. And we are a lot to want to play online. My goodness why do people keep going on about the "spirit" of GR1?! It had spirit just because it was free?! That same community spirit will be retained and even enhanced so long as the game is go...

Re: GeneRally 2 - Kickstarter Launched
Let's be honest, how many people outside of this community are going to pay £8, or really any amount of money, for a game like GR2? Some yes, considering one James' side note in this thread earlier about comparison of community/native KS support gained in a moment. Btw I'd not overestimate it, but ...

Re: GeneRally 2 - Kickstarter Launched
Truly free games (no adverts, no in-game purchases etc) just don't exist anymore. I stand by my opinion that yes there should be a free demo with some big limitations so that IF people like the game they can buy the full version. If you make the demo too feature rich they will never buy the full gam...

Re: GeneRally 2 - Kickstarter Launched
So everybody uses the free version and the developers get zero reward for their hard work? If the game is loved that much then every player should want to show their appreciation to the team. It is only £8 for heavens sake!!

Re: GeneRally 2 - Kickstarter Launched
I don't think there should be a free version at all. Maybe a seriously cut down demo could be available. But with all the hard work and no revenue from adverts or in-game purchases like a lot of free games on mobile for example, I don't see why the developers should go unrewarded for this.

Re: GeneRally 2 - Kickstarter Launched
Looks like we won't meet the goal :( That's too bad, maybe in a couple of months you can try again with a better publicity campaign ready to go. And maybe you can rethink some of the feature sets (like *cough* number of cars in the free version), or come up with a couple additional pay things that ...

Re: GeneRally 2 - Kickstarter Launched
AI works well so far, will be great to see how the added 'intelligence' will pan out. As for Kickstarter I think a big push around the end of the month (which is pay day for a lot of people) is badly needed. If every new contributor went for the £8 digital copy of the game then the project still nee...
