Re: Competitions ideas
Just casually bumping this thread after *looks* TWO YEARS. Looking at redoing GRASCAR now, despite discussing this many years ago. I had a talk with a few people about running it and getting the rules, I wonder what others think about this, given that it needs a bit of a refresh, such as nerfing the...

Looking fantastic!

[rwl] [cir] Symmons Plains
One of the most fun real world layouts in GR, IMO, of course. Symmons Plains in Tasmania. Thought it was worthy of a smaller world size than normal just to add to the fun :D Both the normal layout and motorcycle layout is included AI is for Formula :cool2: Next up will be The Bend now I've had some ...

Re: Autodrom Most
Really think you've done a fantastic job with this circuit both visually and driving wise. I've not tested with AI but I can really feel the technical challenge of a lot of the corners during hotlapping. The only thing I could have suggested was perhaps exaggerating Turns 6,7,8,9 to be a little more...

This is a damn fun circuit, both in drive-ability and looks. Goodness me, the corner just before the big banked one is total evil and so easy to overshoot It is so fun to try get through all of the circuit in one piece. Absolute recommendation from me

Re: [roa] Dandelion Shore
This is genuinely one of the most impressive looking tracks I've ever seen, so much so, it inspired me to make a palette as well. I have only hotlap it and it really has that old school rally vibe going. The HMap throws you around in such a good way, you learn it all pretty quickly and it's just a t...

I... I can't believe I'm releasing a real track, let alone in 2020. :scared: Sachsenring in Germany, featuring many many flat out corners but for those moto's, expect some slowing down. Tried my best to really get that HMap working hard. :goal: AI is for Formula as usual for me. :goodvibes: Included...

Re: Changes affecting the game physics since GeneRally 1.05
Okay, I noticed this too. I'm more than certain that in 1.05 at least, if you are driving solo with no other AI or other players that it ignores some rule sets like fuel mass and tyre wear but I can't confirm that.

Re: GeneRally v1.2 - DISCUSSION
Ah, there's a few things. For one, majortom decoded the 1.05 track file here and describes what does what. I think 1.2 from memory hasn't got really anything too different. http://forum.generally-racers.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=432 I have some files on some backup somewhere that went into some mo...

Re: GeneRally v1.2 - DISCUSSION
Most of the files, bar the exe, can be read using a hex editor. If I recall, you will need to break down the files to be read as bytes to do any editing to them.
This is what I know so far of the saves, tracks, drivers, cars.

Re: Developer Blog
The main issue is this. I want to have faith in GR 2.0. I backed the kickstarter with more money than an AAA title costs to buy, because on per hour of gaming, I've probably spent more time playing GR than any other game so I thought on a money side, it's worth it. The main thing I want is another v...

It's just sad looking here because I remember after the last major update, this place was thriving but we've hit the no updates thing again and it's tiresome. I do miss GR, I've played it a bit lately and my love for it has returned but I long for a new version. I wish I knew the original code since...

Re: We're making a new top-down racing game
Going to follow this closely. I really like the look of the cars in that "remote control/micro machines" appearance.
I think a lot of us will want customisable cars and tracks but if your aim is to implement online play, can completely understand the controlled approach.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the only contact a non-leading forum member was able to do was at the old RSC forums. There hasn't actually been any mention of how to contact them outside of the GR2 team.

No more communication by the people who were committed in the building of Generally2? El zilcho. :weep: Not even any subtle signs Can the more experienced people here who are still active in this forum/game continue to develop at least Generally1? Re: Developer Blog
I think given we all know the formats of the files pretty well, we can approximate it or make it suit better (clearly being optimistic here) ;) I was content with the GR2 Demo's physics personally, even if I do prefer the more frantic sliding nature of GR. I wouldn't worry too much about 2D racers b...

What's to say that members of the community couldn't band together and create a spiritual successor to GR? It really is. I think it has ultimately been the wrong move to say silence is golden and you only need to see how empty this place has come to understand why. I understand that at some point there may have been some things that needed to be hidden to show the project is going but giving no signs is ...
