Re: GeneRally v1.2 - DISCUSSION
Ah, there's a few things. For one, majortom decoded the 1.05 track file here and describes what does what. I think 1.2 from memory hasn't got really anything too different. http://forum.generally-racers.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=432 I have some files on some backup somewhere that went into some m...

Re: GeneRally v1.2 - DISCUSSION
After toying around for a bit...seems to work, thanks! I tried various hex editors but it just didn't make sense. It still really doesn't, but when I alter some values I see changed values without screwing up the file.

Re: GeneRally v1.2 - DISCUSSION
Sticking in on the source code subject - in which language is this written? I have some ideas in mind but ideally I'd be able to change the cars, driver files etc on the fly. I don't see any reason why it won't be possible, I just cannot find out how to decompile the files... Anyone has a hint in th...

Re: Project GR (GR version of Project CARS)
I'd suggest really spending enough time just thinking about one project first before starting on multiple. Been there, done that, doesn't work. I've finally found enough motivation and ideas to start working on some things. Over the years I've worked out lots of things to do with GR so I can apply a...

Re: Project GR (GR version of Project CARS)
Ooh this is a pretty neat idea, i've thought about this as well. A year ago I began with toying up some career progressing thingy which worked neat but was boring as there was no actual driving. I've actually always have been more or less toying around with the GTGR idea but I just never got it &quo...

http://generally.ucoz.ru/Rabina_awards/Banners/bannercar_2014.png With great pleasure I have been given the honorable task to speech about the Car Maker of the Year 2014 award. While tracks are still, and have always been, created the most they are rather useless without those great looking 40 poly...

Re: GeneRally 2 - Kickstarter Launched
The Kickstarter failed because it was (and in it current state, is) a bad investment. You cannot expect people to shell out money for a to be developed game made by people with no noteable previous successes. Not saying James & co have no clue what they're doing but all they've released is an up...

So I thought, but this doesn't look completely right.

Does the SaveGame reader actually works with the most recent version of GR or am I just stuffing things up?

Re: Motorsports Trivia Game
Corner is reportedly named after a local character who had earned the nickname of Tarzan and only wanted to give up his vegetable garden in the dunes if the track's designers named a nearby corner after him. Thanks wikipedia Was that even on Wikipedia? I thought it would've been a bit more difficul...

Oh, I hadn't even thought about this . I have a few who can test so that's good, for the rest I hope it won't be too long before I can discuss further things .

I truelly doubt this is the right topic but it's really not worth its own topic so please do move if the mods think it should fit better somewhere else .
Anyone on here with a bit of spare time to try out a few things?

It's the first time I played a Unity browser game and I have to say the game works like a charm on my Firefox 28.0 browser, even on the highest settings, so therefore I am very impressed by your work. :bg: The sound effects from the original GR give a taste of nostalgia into the demo, which feels s...

I'd like to join in on that, how easy is it to use Blender? Is there some kind of tutorial on how to make a model which would work in GR2?

I know it's Chris Amon, but come on now, Martin Brundle is okay... but Tommy Byrne? Let me guess as well (despite knowing the answer) : Nick Heidfeld? Andrea de Cesaris? Tommy Byrne is probably one of the greatest what if cases. Lightning quick. His driving capabilities were probably on par with Se...

Don't think this is going to count as a circuit (or a track at all...) but it is a bit of an oddity I found out a bunch of years ago. Simply throttle away and do a literal race to the clouds. Don't use AI as you'll get a CTD. You can't drive everywhere as you'll hit some invisible walls (which has b...
