Re: Developer Blog
There is some specific feedback I'd like to give regarding the aesthetics of the game. There seems to be some inconsistency in the sense that some of the colors are kind of earthy (e.g. the house object, vegetation), and others are very bright (e.g. grass, the sky, the blue of booths/stands/office ...

Re: [cpk] [ser] [for] F1 Minis '21 - 2021 Chibi Formula 1
Thank you for your nice words, aliman. But let me get down to your questions: They fit nicely into my World Tour series as well. Due to my unbroken love for figure-8 street tracks, I will warmly recommend your Adelaine to everybody in this thread. Also, should there ever be a second season of F1 Min...

One of my promo shots for PGR's F1 Minis event, slightly edited. Since this is not supposed to be an advertisement, I'm not going to tell you that you can still sign up for round 2 at Bronzerock.

Re: Created Car: weird Grid + not moving
I can't really make sense of the fact that a somehow "broken" model has an impact on actual track behavior, whether or not the standstill on the grid is the result of either faulty AI behavior or of corrupted car physics. Actually, I can. It happenend to me yesterday, again. The issue occ...

Re: Tools - MsComCtl.ocx
If nothing helps, registering OCX and DLLs is my very last resort. So if that doesn't help with comdlg32.ocx, I don't know. Maybe, re-installing Visual Basic 6.0 was the better idea from the start.

Re: Created Car: weird Grid + not moving
[Update] Apparently the shadow was the problem. But can someone explain me, why it was? I can't exactly tell you why these things happen. But I ran into the same issues years ago, trying to fix some F1 models I made for PGR F1. Whenever I used all the available vertices and triangles to construct a...

What the five guys have managed here is absolutely mind-blowing. Every single stage is an absolute beauty, crafted with the finest details...

So what can I say about the track? The strategic placement of some of the obstacles is good. And at no time I felt frustrated because I could always see them coming. ... but then I still crashed right into them.

Re: GeneRally v1.2 - DISCUSSION
Has there been any looking into ways for the official GeneRally site to promote or make people more directly aware of tracks/cars available? When GeneRally got its new website in 2018 they turned the community section into a continuous text with links. In these days of the interwebs, though, I woul...

If you can't find them in Kikwik's database, you might be able to find happy412's track on Planetgenerally.de. Don't waste any time using the search bar. It's broken at the moment.

Re: [oth] [cpk] Pixar's Cars
The missing eyes on the windshield are a bit of a letdown for me, personally. Not because they would've been easy to model, but because they are the main feature that Pixar's cars have over their real-life counterparts. Also, Lightning's mouth is too pointy. Is there a better way of doing? I'm not s...

Off topic: How do I "attach" a link to a word? :D Like for example in my previous message I talked about Marco's Kyalami and I would have loved to put a link to that track which you could reach by clicking either Marco or Kyalami. Hopefully you understand what I meant. :D Use the URL butt...

Re: Come up with clever track names
Out of my head: Nordschleife + -chen (Diminutive) = Nordschleifchen (by Haselnuss) Also: Min + Turkey = Minturkey (by XYY), Min + (Nür-)burgring = Minburgring (by BBA), Hockenheimring - heim = Hockenring (by Dragon), but these tracks don't play by your rules. In Scholl's thread about his series of m...

Good bye, Ed!
It's amazing how many parallels I can make out in your descriptions of the early years. Though, I don't know how and when my own relationship with the game comes to an end, but I will certainly come back to your post for inspiration.

Re: Long names display "~1"
No, there is not. 12 (13?) characters per track name are the maximum.
In earlier versions, these tracks wouldn't even be displayed in the main menu.

Re: Changes affecting the game physics since GeneRally 1.05
Okay, I noticed this too. I'm more than certain that in 1.05 at least, if you are driving solo with no other AI or other players that it ignores some rule sets like fuel mass and tyre wear but I can't confirm that. Thanks for the swift reply, Crowella! What I do know is that the game cranks the gri...

Changes affecting the game physics since GeneRally 1.05
I have been working on throwback competitions lately. In this case 'throwback' means running the old competition including the same tracks, cars and settings, but in GeneRally 1.2c instead of the original and often outdated version. However, I found that, on several occasions, my best laps just woul...
