GeneRally gone

Post by Woppoz »

I was cleaning my PC and I believe I deleted GeneRally as well...

Do I need to install everything again, or is there a simpler way?

The sooner, the better.

When you "delete" files from your computer, they aren't actually gone. Your system only deletes information of their existance from the registry, but the files themselves remain on your disk until other data is written over them. So that is why Paw said:

If you try to recover deleted files ASAP, before you write any new data to your HDD, your chances of recovering them are quite positive, but the longer you wait (and new data you download/copy/install/etc.) the less chances you have of successful recovery.

I use Recuva, mainly because I use CCleaner and Defraggler from the same authors, but luckily I've only had to use it once, and it worked for me then.

That's why you set deep searches to run before going to school/work or something like that. :P
