Not necessarily a bug per se, but i hadnt noticed it before in 1.05 (i had to check) and i dont know where else to post it...

When adjusting a 'slider value' in the track properties in track editor. pressing the up arrow on the keyboard, decreases the value, pressing the down arrow, increases the value. Logic would say its the other way around

Expected Behaviour
Up arrow on keyboard should increase the value

Reproduction
  1. open Track Editor
  2. select track properties
  3. click on one of the slider bars
  4. Press up arrow key on keyboard to adjust value of slider; value decrease

AI drivers rush for the bottom-left corner when there's no AI-line.

Expected Behaviour
The cars should rotate in place like they do in 1.05, or at least they shouldn't do such random thing.

Reproduction
Start a race with at least one AI driver on a track without AI-line.

In TE ideal line of track's record lap cannot be fully imported in tracks WS255, parts of the imported line are broken. It maybe happen in all WS200+ world sizes, but I didn't tested it.

Expected Behaviour
Lap record's line should be importable as AI line correctly in all WSs.

Reproduction

1. Open TE
2. Open a track WS255, which has track record (a ghost lap)
3. Press button import AI line and choose the track

System Configuration

the start lights now show when viewing a replay.

Personally for me this is annoying as i like to take new track screenshots with the cars lined up, but the lights now intrude. Possible to change it back? such a small detail i know :sorry:

Expected Behaviour
start lights should not show in replay.

Reproduction

1.Begin race
2.within first few seconds, view replay of the start.
3.at this point i would like to take a screenshot, but the lights get in the way

Here's the problem: only the first controller is being recognized if I try multiple controllers. The issue might be that I have 4 identical Xbox360 controllers and a receiver for those. They do work fine in other games, except FIFA10 (FIFA10 only supports two controllers..). So, it's an issue concerning controllers with identical information, except index or just multiple XInput controllers. I don't have other controllers to test the problem, but at least with these controllers the problem is reproducible. XInput controllers are compatible with DInput when it comes to normal buttons at least.

Expected Behaviour
You should be able to use all the different controllers.

Reproduction
1. Buy 2x Xbox 360 controllers and a receiver for PC.
2. Try assigning buttons on the second controller.

System Configuration
Operating System: Windows 7 x64
Hardware: Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz, 2x2gb DDR2 RAM, ATi Radeon HD 4850 512MB PCI-E w/ CCC 10.12, Xbox 360 controllers and a receiver.

EDIT: Just saw the post above and it seems that this is already reported. Well, the post makes look like it was a gamepad issue having a stuck button, but I can confirm this. Altho in my case the game behaves very differently: it won't accept any buttons from the second controller.

EDIT2: Tested with one Xbox 360 controller and one Microsoft Sidewinder, working just like described in the earlier post: it appears as the second joystick had a stuck button. Works fine if I try alone with either of the controllers. This is really a deal breaker for the multiplayer experience 1.05 offered. Also tested with 1.10b, nothing has changed so far.

Cursor doesn't disappear when racing.

Expected Behaviour
The game should hide the cursor as soon as the race starts.

Reproduction

1.Select any track
2.Race on it. The cursor doesn't disappear unlike V1.05.

Operating System: Windows XP
Hardware: eMachines 370 w/ 55GB hard drive, Intel Extreme Graphics card, 1.80 GhZ Intel Celeron Processor and 256MB DDR.

When racing on a new track that doesn't have any checkpoints, the race automatically finishes so you can't beta test your tracks that don't have checkpoints. Even when setting it to 100 laps, the lap counter goes furiously and the race finishes within 5 seconds.

Expected Behaviour
You should be able to race on incomplete tracks without any checkpoints fine.

Reproduction
1. Create a new track in TE.
2. Do not add any checkpoints.
3. Save it.
4. Try and drive on it. It doesn't matter about AI or amount of laps, the race finishes ASAP.

Not necessarily a bug, but it agravate many GR drivers and trackmasters.
When you name a track with more than 12 characters, appears something as 6 first characters in capital, a ~ and a number. Example: SPAFRA~1

Expected Behaviour
Increase the number of letters which could be putted on track name without it happen. Or at least when the trk name has more than 12 characters, show only the first 12.

Reproduction
1-Found any track with more than 12 characters on name(example: Concrete Park by SineD1301 - http://forum.gene-rally.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1714)
2-Launch GR.exe
3-Found the track and note the bug.

The numpad numbers also don't work on driver naming.

Expected Behaviour
Name works with caps capitals(already noticed) and with numpad numbers.

Reproduction

2-Use a numpad number on name and see nothing
3-Do the same thing with the alphanumeric ones, they works.

Expected Behaviour
GeneRally uses (in my case) german keyboard layout

Reproduction

1. Create a new driver
2. type in a bit text
3. you'll get text as it would come from a Querty-keyboard
btw would it be possible to choose the keyboard layout regulated by your language?

Expected Behaviour
AI skill will not be affected by track layout.

2-Create 5 AI's, skills 20, 63, 63 100 and 200, using different secondary colors.
3a-Race on future design's Wentworth Mile with all using Ferrari car.
3b-Use 40% tyre wear, 5% fuel consumption, 100kg fuel mass and 20% damage.
4-Note than the 100 AI won the 200 AI..

Sometimes when you try to view the replay after the results screen pops up the cars are stationary and the saved game doesn't contain the replay either - the file is as large as the Autosave.sav. Haven't managed to replicate it consistently, and it has only happened during a long championship. If I go to the replay before the results screen then there are no problems, even after the results screen appears.
Bouncebackability wrote:Just to add to TuomoH's report. I had this occur once in 1.10, just to clarify, However i could not replicate it, and have no understanding of what caused it at the time.
Expected Behaviour
The replay should be viewable no matter when you try to watch it.

Reproduction
  1. Start a championship with multiple races.
  2. Drive the race, wait for the results screen to appear.
  3. Try to watch the replay.
System Configuration
Operating System: Windows XP Media Center Edition
Hardware: Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz, 1GB RAM, ATi Radeon XPress 200 series.

When a track has only one checkpoint, crossing through it has 5 or more laps value.

Expected Behaviour
Tracks with only one checkpoint do nothing when i cross it. Or at least has one-lap value.

Reproduction

2-Start a race on it.
3-Cross the checkpoint.

It is impossible to use the "_" character in replay names - pressing shift plus - does nothing but add extra dashes. The same issue occurs in folder creation in-game.

You should be able to use the "_" character

In some situations, the in-game sound will not keep playing when switching to another program (seems to happen mostly with iTunes). Programs that this conflict occurs with will have the sound cancelled even if you switch to another program inbetween (in my case, from GR to Firefox 4.0 to iTunes)

Expected behaviour
Sound should continue playing no matter what program you're using

Reproduction:
1: Running in windowed mode, start a race with AIs
2: Open iTunes, or switch to an existing window with iTunes in. Some other programs may exhibit this behaviour also.

Fulscreen (and possibly other unusual view angle/zoom) tracks in GR 1.10b aren't displayed as they should be or as they were displayed in GR 1.05. That means the experimental zoom feature doesn't work properly.

Expected Behaviour
Fulscreen tracks from GR 1.05 should retain their POV in GR 1.10b.

Reproduction

  2. Select any fulscreen track (my FAT#01 used on screenshots)
  3. Start the race
