Little help with car physics

Post by Halfsaw »

Hi everybody, first post here and first attempt at car/track modding in general.

What I wanted to do was tweak the physics a bit in order to reward carrying speed out of the corner more than just drift into them. I see the original cars just kind of plateau at a certain speed, so you're not likely to gain on somebody on a straight, no matter how you get off a turn.
I tried raising top speed and lowering air resistance and power, but I haven't tested them a lot yet. Since I won't be home in a bit I decided to post here and see if anybody has already come up with something in this regard. So any hint? :D

GR Formula Cup cars and Thunder Alley's Daytona TA01 are fairly recent representations of what you might like.

If you want to reward momentum carriers, have a car with ONE of the following characteristics:
- Lower grip + higher downforce
- Lower balance + higher downforce
- Lower power + higher top speed + lower air resistance
