640x480 problem unsolvable!

Hi everyone, i'va got an amd radeon 6970 and running generally on win xp. unable to change resolution, I tried to edit the gr.ini with the right amount of video memory, but the problem remains. does anyone know more solutions? thanks!

Try deleting options.set in your game folder and see if it helps.

I tried also that way but nothing. i think it could be a problem with the video card, but(on the same pc) using win7 and 1.10 version i can just put my resolution to 1920x1080 with no problem. damn

If you're running XP, you should also be able to use v1.10 there

yes, but with 1.10 i can't connect 4 pads and play with the starting grid full of stupid friends

I'm not sure, if there's much help, it seems to be related to the card, likely its drivers. I remember several people, who had similar issues after updating old drivers by latest version and their solution usually was reverting to old version. But in your case, it's whole new card, not only drivers ...

I'm not sure, if fix of the pad issue is scheduled on next or a later version, if on next, you have some hope, that solution will arrive soon (James' unguaranteed estimation, that something can be out in about 2 months), check the bug reports thread here for more details.

this is true, but, considering that I installed xp just few days ago (and the only reason was generally ahahah), I updated only the very last updates of the drivers. I could try to serch on amd site an older version of them and downgrade...just to try.
or maybe I could wait v1.2 without finding out new problems on the old version
