Viewing replays from .gam files
Viewing replays from .gam files
Question - I know how to view the replay of a .gam file from a race I've run...but I've tried downloading .gam files from other sites in order to view other people's races. I have the tracks and cars in question, as far as I can tell...but the replay isn't there.
I believe these are combined replays because they list the names of six players when loaded...I was trying to view past races from the "results" sections of the GRO site: http://jtarj.free.fr/GRO/index.php

Re: Viewing replays from .gam files
1. Make sure you have the right cars and track as in the replay.
2. Put the .gam file to 'Saves' folder
3. Open the .gam file in GeneRally
4. Watch the replay
That's the basic guide but if you've done those I don't know what's the problem

If you're trying to watch erplays from competitions, there's a chance that you don't have exactly the same track file as in the replay since many compos provide the correct track during login.

Well it's usually in the replays .zip..TuomoH wrote:If you're trying to watch erplays from competitions, there's a chance that you don't have exactly the same track file as in the replay since many compos provide the correct track during login.

But what do you mean with "the replay isn't there"?

Yeah, I'll try putting the .trk file in and see if that helps.
What I mean by the replay isn't there: You load up the game and it just puts the cars on the starting line as though you're going to run an AI race. When you hit ESC to bring up the menu, "Replay" isn't an option.

You can see the replay by:
1. 'Load' in main menu
2. choose the specified replay file, press 'Load' in submenu
3. now the replay is loaded - press ESC and choose replay in game menu
4. press home to move the replay on beginning of the race
I hope this helps.

Normally that works, but in this case the "replay" option in step 3 isn't even there to choose.

Yes, I've had the same problem too sometimes, after pressing "Escape", the replay option simply doesn't appear!
