Ladies and gentlemen! My dear friends!
There's not a word which can explain what a pleasure for me to open this thread. Because it means that GRF1 is back. Despite there happened several changes since the last season.

New managers. New rules. New carpack. New calendar.
Let's see them:

About the management:
First, as I said, there is a brand new management: Miskolc Racing Foundation. Just as MRF started to work Vítor left on us the rights of his competition. To be honest Resi and me have started to plan the details of the new season, but than our daily routines are caused much more delays as we expected. I had to hire Miguel to help us in a few part of the organizing. So we three are the new management crew.
About the rules:
The new rules are mainly about the number of the drivers per team and about the qualifying system. There is three drivers allowed in a team just to avoid "zombie teams". Qualifying events follow the real life Formula 1's qualifications. Read the detailed rules bellow.

Detailed rules:

Some Important Terms
Active: The following driver is active and still racing
Inactive: The following driver has missed 3 races in a row and may be replaced with someone else.
Deadline: The final submission time

General Rules
This is a Login competition. Each round consists of 2 events: Qualifying and Race. Qualifying determines the starting grid on race day.

Cars
The cars we use are from Fechna's F1 2010 carpack. All the cars' parameters are equal to the Red Bull Racing cars' parameters.

Sign up to a team by replying to this thread.
Include these informations:
Nickname
Nationality
Number
E-Mail
Team (you have to pick one from the team list!)
Each team may contain up to 3 members. The best if two or three drivers sign up at the same time to the same team.

Qualifying
Step-by-Step instructions
1. Qualifying consists of 3 heats, and uses F1's knockout format. Each heat lasts 5 laps
2. Login time for the whole qualifying session is 15 minutes
3. When you think you trained enough, go online and click on the Login link.
4. Enter your login information. If the login is valid, you will be asked to download a zip file. Download it and put all 3 tracks inside the zip into your tracks folder.
5. Open GeneRally and select your driver without AIs and the correct track (example: "TrackName_Q1.trk") and settings then start your qualifying attempt.
6. You have ONE and ONLY ONE attempt to do your qualifying! If you restart or reset times (even after a crash) you will be penalised!
7. As soon as you finished the qualifying run, save your game then press F12 to take your screenshot.
8. Zip the saved game file (.gam), the screenshot (.bmp), and also the track file (.trk). Rename the zip file, for example: "nickname_track_Q1.zip"
9. Do steps 5-8 again for Q2 and Q3.
10. After you're finished, send all 3 zip files to grf1.2011 :) gmail.com
11. Deadline is at the signed days at 23:59.59 (GMT).

Race
Step-by-Step instructions
1. Before you start, look at your starting grid. If you qualified 7th, you will start 7th on the grid. If you did not make a qualifying attempt, you will have to start from the pitlane!
2. Login time for the race: 20 minutes
3. When you think you trained enough, go online and click on the Login link.
4. Enter your login information. If the login is valid, you will be asked to download a zip file. Download it and put the tracks inside the zip in your tracks folder.
5. Open GeneRally and select your driver (this time you have to race with 5 of the AIs on the pack!), and the correct track (example: "TrackName_R.trk") and settings then start the race.
6. To start the race by the proper starting grid, each driver MUST start from the pole position on the downloaded track! See the "Starting System" section below for reference.
7. Do your best race! And remember, you have ONLY ONE attempt to do the race!
8. As soon as you finished the qualifying run, save your game then press F12 to take your screenshot.
9. Zip the files, this time only the saved game (.gam) and the screenshot (.bmp)! Rename the zip file, for example: "nickname_track_Race.zip"
10. After you're finished, send all 3 zip files to grf1.2011 :) gmail.com
11. Deadline is at the signed days at 23:59.59 (GMT).

Starting System
For the race start we have a simple system that allows each driver start on grid positions according to the qualifying results. It works by modifying the tracks of each GP, changing the starting positions relative to start/finish line.
That way, if someone achieves a given place in qualifying section, he will start from the pole position on the modified track, that was set by the general qualifying order. The tracks are edited to fit 30 grid spots, players qualified below 30th place have to start from the pitlane.
Note: To start the race by the proper starting grid, each driver MUST start from the pole position on the downloaded track! You can modify the starting grid using the Savegame Reader tool by Juan.

About the cars:
The carpack should be familiar for thoes who took part in VCoSA. It is Fechna's 2010 F1 pack. All the paremeters of each car have made to be equal to the Red Bull Racing's parameters. No other changes have applied.
About the calendar:
For making the new calendar we deivided the world to regions and named all the 16 grand pries after them. To choose the best tracks for each grand pries Resi, Herbal, Masakari and me followed strict criterias. For example the fame, the quality and the beauty of the tracks (both in real life and so in generally). But beyond all: FUN.
Read the full calendar bellow! I hope it meets your expections.

I don't know what I think about that the comp runs at the same time with GRACE for so many races. It will be very stressfull with two phases and all.

I´d say that it´d be much better if you gave numbers in order of teams (for teams that took part in real F1 last year numbers in order as in results of constructors championship and for new ones in the order of sign up). What do you think?

It's OK, just 2 compos and even we all know the car well (from Vuvuzela) and all the tracks are notorious too (like all major rwls). In past I had once similar doubts with running 4 compos at same time, but Raska cleared my sorrows by telling me, that even 8 events in one week are pretty OK amount for him, when he plans to attack podium in several of them. BTW where are those days, when we could try this madness too. :sorry:

Hai everybody!
I'm very happy about in less than 24 hours we have 7 drivers already ;)

BTW Ivo warned me that there's a bug in the rules' penality section. For late submit the penality is not +5 seconds but BOP.

@haq: the teams in the entry list are in the teams' order is the same as the final result of the FIA Formula1 World Championships in 2010. How did you mean the numbers? Numbers for the drivers as they would be on the F1 cars now?

@T.Miguel: check your PMs ;)

It would be good to somehow relate GR teams with this comp, so they can score GWR points. Real F1 teams are just fictional in GWR world
Can we pit-stop during qualification?

 hi Adamek, akouk! nice to see you here, Ivo ;)

@haq. i see now but cannot find any point of it. i'd like the drivers to change their numbers for their login passwords and for penalities on the result boards. imo in this case the best if you can choose your own number (lucky-number or something).

@akouk. sorry but i'd like to keep the real f1 teams. i know that it's not the best for GWR team-standings, but i'm affraid it wouldn't be GRF1 anymore without the real teams. and btw you will get for the quailfycation such a map where isn't any pit-staff.

@everyone: There is a pack for practice but it's still unofficial. MRF need to consult about the calendar and we're still waiting for the permission for the Ricardo Tormo Circuit. The car is the final version.
