GR ROC - Race of Champions

GR RoC - Race of Champions!

Index - Rules - Entry list - Login - Results - Downloads - Links
This weekend ROC track has been finished in Düsseldorf. After telling this on the chat with Madd Dogg, we have discussed about a possibility of organizing a GR Race of Champions event, with a knockout system, for both drivers and nations championship, the latter with two drivers each, which was also an idea of Resi from last year.

Fortunately tracks and cars are not problem, as Madd Dogg has his Soccer City, and with minor alterations that track may be used. Cars are to be announced, but I suppose Haruna's and my cars are going to be selected.

For single races it won't be a big deal to arrange the knockout, there'll be a good old hat-system. Nations can also be selected so. BUT nations are problematic, because there are nations, which are "over-presented" and more are underpresented.

I just want to say that I also made a ROC Carpack, and I want to remind you that Kaiserkoenig made a ROC Track.
Btw, why not use Paw's cars otherwise? And which Roc Cars did you make already? :D

We also had a RoC at PGR. But it was never finished

Well, I didn't say that I will use my cars, but I've got a Scirocco and a new Fabia in my S2000 carpack, and I remember that Haruna has made the remaining two cars (the KTM and the ROC buggy, although I'm not sure in the first one). Madd Dogg's Soccer City was also an obvious idea, as I was in talks with him... :D

For Finland there's surely over-presentation as you say, but I'm interested anyway.

Thank you guys! :) Don't forget, that RoC will have 2 championships, and only the nations' champ is restricted to two drivers, in drivers champ everybody may join.

I can't stress it enough times, nations champ is different, this does NOT affect the drivers champ, everyone may join there!

Hey, that's cool!

I wanted to realize that idea myself one year ago. I have already started with the graphics and collected the cars XYYs mentioned. I would give you everything I have but unfortunately my old computer crashed. The HDD is still OK but at the moment I can't restore the data.

Good luck and have fun!

If this compo is on so solid basis right now, that we're talking about sign-ups and confirmed teams, start its own topic soon, please, and leave this one for more academic discussions. :)

BTW good luck, Herbal! :bg:

That would really be a fantastic compo!! :bg: :bg:

But for the Germans it can make some problems, if there are only 2 drivers for each nation: Only think of: Majortom, Rudy (If he want to risk his international comeback :shhh: ), Reh, XYY, Nolb, Scholl, Doncamillo and of course myself.
But maybe we can make Germany 1 and Germany 2, if that isn't against the rules!

I think this will depend on the amount of nations. If there won't be enough teams, then second nation teams could also be created.

I think that I should also get some of the credits for the idea.

Anyway, count me in. :) I'll also try to get Rendy in.

Err... I really think this should be split into a separate topic >_> As for credit, there have probably been 100's of people over the years who have thought of an idea for a GR competition between countries... and wasn't there some kind of ROC compo before anyway?

Anyway, I know I don't have the best record of showing up to compos, but I would definitely show up to represent the US...

Thanks, Ivo, I've also thought about splitting topic, although I wanted to wait until the website would be finished, but then, I'm not the boss anymore on the forum... :D
