Post moved to Competitions, as it's rather an idea of a competition. ;)

BTW it's not a bad idea, but the terms are very short, you need at least a week for accepting times.

Anything can be discussed as I'm quite a beginner in this kind of "indirect" online competitions.

I'm also thinking about an extra type of competition: compulsory freestyle (do a pre-made freestyle run as fast as you can) and I've started designing a couple of arenas.

EXTRA INFO:
Stunts: big air, long jump, 90º jump, 180º jump, 270º jump, donuts and transfer jump (no wheelie in GR :sorry: ).
I think we all can have lots of fun jumping over cars, vans, boats, buses and leaving our mark in the mud.

I use to run a few competitions Generally Formula Ford festival and Formula BMW rookie championship which produced drivers like Googol and Aleksinir, just don't have the time on my hands nowadays to create the sites etc, can think of so many competitions which have become extinct..

GRASCAR? This was at one time the most prestigious competition around before ToM.

Historic F1?

Generally World karting championship.

Let me first say I would love to run a competition for the next two months. I have time at hand and would love to do it.

The only thing that bothers me is access to the cars and tracks. I have PM-ed Fechna if I can use one of his cars but there was no response. I have also PM-ed some trackmakers but also no response there.

Isn't there an overview of tracks that are free-to-use and for which the maker has agreed that it can be included in a competition?

It would be great to organize a special event on the occasion of 8th anniversary of GeneRally.

Well, you could use my cars with no problems, and I'm sure people like Bba will be happy to let you use their tracks. ;)

Will anyone kill me if I say "Super SS Race" and "Quarter Mile Drag Race"???

Here's the concept:

Super SS Race
- Each driver will be put in a bracket.
- Each bracket includes a 1vs1 race using a Super SS track.
- Winners advance to the next round, until there's one winner.
- Best of 3 - Competitor who won 2 of 3 rounds wins.

Quarter Mile Drag Race
- Same as above, but this time using a straight track. And the cars include Dragster cars and Funny cars, as well as hot rods.

Is it okay to do these kinds of these competitions?

They are kinda interesting. But as far as I know we haven't that much drag tracks and we have almost no paralel tracks. Your idea sounds fun, I'd take part in a compo like these with pleasure. But first we must solve the technical problems (maybe with a competition to the track-makers or I don't know  )

The problem is who is gonna keep the scores? Or maybe who's the judge?

And for my Super SS plan, the chances are:
- Using J4ber's WRC pack
- Using a "Race of Champions" car pack
or...
- Using another car pack other than above.

And the problem is, can anyone make Super Special tracks??? I only made one, Saratrus Rally had one Super SS track, there are some Super SS tracks at GR Italia, there's a Super SS at GR German community.

Currently I'm trying to make a Rallye Hotlap competition using P2P rally packs I found here.

Here are the current trackpacks I found:

1000 Lakes Rally (Otto Wilson)
ADAC Rallye Deutschland (BBA)
Rallye Bohemia (Haq)
Rally Canada (Haq)

Could someone give me more trackpacks?

Thanks.

I still need your opinion here. Because of the large number of stages on the rally (while we have to complete them all in atleast a week), should I keep going for 1 week per round, or should I extend it to 2 weeks?

maybe dont use all the stages from all the rallys?

Ivo did a fine competition using just one of the rallies :shhh: perhaps just select a couple of stages from each rally each week, otherwise its perhaps too big for a good competition.

I think too that only the best stages would be selected.. About 6-7 for example. (We don't have to rerun same stages etc)
