I'm taking cues out of this management game - http://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread.ph ... d_id=32087 - as well as Football Manager

There the forum members are creating their own teams, opearate with specific budget and plan their season. Meanwhile the competitions are "reported" by several forum member. As being inspired by this GR TCR Manager is going to be a management game that is centered around managing a racing team.

Here is the procedure (provisional)
- Form your own team and choose car colors
- Pick the series that you wish to participate (it may be more than one)
- Pick the team's individual goals (i.e. number of wins, championship win etc.)
- Number of cars that you'd like to run
- Once you've picked all these (calendar, goals, car) your team's budget will be allocated depending on the prestige of the series and/or the value of the goal (outright championship win weighs more than individual win). This budget allow you to buy cars, pay drivers sallaries and additional testing if needed

I may try to implement BoP and race ballast as in RL, but IDK if this will be more complicated. Also I'd like to have more reporters that can run the race simulations and make saves as it'd be hard on my own.

Have any ideas? Propose some

Wouldn't everyone just want to pick whatever goal gives them the most cash? IMO it's better that everyone has the same amount of cash to start from and build a team within the same parameters.

Important news from my part of GRChA.

GeneRallyCross Championship is moved to autumn 2017. I can't prepare some important things for season.

I won't organize big competitions, only GRTCC Academy and GRPL 4Fun Races. GRTCC Season 7 will take place on April/May as planned.

EDIT: GRX Spec is free to use for competition makers until September 2017.

GTT is Grand Tour Trophy.

Nah.. I know what GTT is. What I meant was, will it be something like a combined race with 2 classes, GTC and GTT, or will we drive GTT cars instead of GTC. :)

It means only that in the same weekend there will be GRTCC round and GTT race.
We were talking about making in the same time round at Snetterton but it seems Marcinho decided to make also Dubai round in the same time.

Another thing about Grand Tour Trophy 2017.

What do you think about Amateur classification in GTT?
Made on the same way as in IES, but because every race in GTT have the same distance and point system, the second classification would be leaded with other point system (something like WTCC Trophy for independent drivers).

GRTCC new physics open tests carpack.

Power and mass are counted using algorythm made by Lorenzo. Other values are based on old physics.

You can join to Polish Touring Cars Championship if You want.
Rules and penalties are same as 4Fun race. Game settings are same as GRTCC.

I have been thinking about some sort of competition for a long time. And some of you might want to share their opinion on what I am just about to describe very vaguely and briefly:
  • The competition is based on a single real racing series over a certain period of time, possibly a decade or a bit more.
  • I would then go and collect some historic "situations" and transform them into some sort of raceable format. The competition does not focus on one or more fixed formats to be used, like e.g. PGR F1's hotlap on Wednesday and race on Sunday. I just want to come up with some nice ideas of what I can replicate in GeneRally and add some sort of competitive content to it.
  • One example could be: Beat Sébastian Loeb's Pikes Peak record of 08:13,878 in his Peugeot 208 T16. This would be like a single stage out of a classic rally competition.
But as I have already implied, I do not want to stick with the conventional formats. So another (fictional) example would be: You are Renault driver Majortom and it is the last lap of the 2010 PGR F1 Korean Grand Prix. RudyOosterndijk is in the lead. In reality Majortom beat me to the win two corners before the end. So I would prepare a savegame for the last lap of this race with RudyOosterndijk as an AI car in the lead and the Renault car as the Player's car chasing. The challenge would be: Beat Rudy to the finish line!
But don't worry, there are more creative ones than that. :)
  • The whole thing would be delivered as a package of different challenges, using different tracks and cars - maybe a handful. The timeframe I could envision would be a month for completing all these challenges.
  • Problems that I see:
In unconventional formats (like the PGR F1 one above mentioned), driver performances are difficult to evaluate. Let's say, more than one competitor manages to win the Korean GP, what would be - if at all - an appropriate tie-breaker to decide who is best in this particular challenge.
Secondly, how to sum up the results of the various different challenges? Awarding points? Is a one lap scenario like the mentioned worth the exact amount of points as, say, a complete race from start to finish?
  • Overall I am not sure if I want to make this a serious competition or just a one-off experience of "GeneRally-ized" scenarios that has some sort of competitive background - but more for your personal pleasure than to measure your own abilities against the other drivers. Presentation would be an important part to add to the feeling, so expect it to be on the level of PGR F1. So all the little set pieces themselves must be fascinating and the cars and tracks and ramifications must be diverse and different from each other.
  • And if I did not take competitive driving too seriously, a login system of checking the results would certainly be unnecessary. On the other hand, I might want to do some sort of surprise login. The different challenges would be extensively explained beforehand, but the the actual driving would be limited to one attempt and the drivers would randomly download the files of one of these challenges.

Would there be a PGRF1 2015 Brazilian GP DLC? :misch:

This seems a good idea Rudy! I know that Haruna made a similar ''championship'' to that where I even took part in it. Maybe you'll find some questions there. ;)

Oh nice, didn't know that. Thank you!
RobertRacer wrote:Would there be a PGRF1 2015 Brazilian GP DLC? :misch:
The whole thing started as an idea to revive some old PGR F1 moments that nobody remembers. The Majortom example was one of those scenarios that I had in mind. I had already prepared a little introduction movie for this challenge, which now turned into one of the #ThrowbackThursday flics on PGR F1's YouTube channel.
But I then decided to go with real-world scenarios. I would not rule out a PGR F1 edition if the whole idea is well accepted. So you can still hope for a RobertRacer scenario, but I will charge you money for it! :)
