Welcome! Do you remember on your password from RoC? If not, I may send you again an email. ;)

About gamepack: tracks will be always published at the deadline starts, so no definite packs are attached. To join you need just a fresh 1.10 copy of GR and you're ready. :goodvibes:

Thanks kuba for the explanation! :bg:

Really? I know that the rules allow it, but is this a right way? :worried:

People can cut 10 (!!!) seconds at Pedra Furada. And those who don't cut will loose all the chances to have good overall result. It's just way too much unfair and I don't really want to take part in this.

And I won't.

That's true. As I'm new at these kind of hotlap compos, and I'm still wanting to keep a "laissez faire", I've tried to experiment the limits of cutting/unfair advantage. This time I'll keep times slide as they are, but for next rounds I promise there will be smaller shortcut possibilities (2-3 seconds maximally), and these tracks will be relatively rare. How about this solution, guys?

I suggest to cancel Pedra Furada results (although such a beautiful track), and don't permit shortcutting at all for next rounds.
I don't know if trying to find a shortcut with the track tools is any fun to you guys, but it sure is boring to me and it takes time as well.

I like that:
Herbal wrote:Shortcutting and leaving track is allowed if checkpoints permit it.
It is clear rule, not like i.e. in F-Astor Formula Series where Scorpion is giving penalties without any evidence.

I see it as part of strategy, you have tracks for training so you can analyse it before login and it's not taking more than 5 minutes.

I also apply for cancelling the results of Pedra Furada. This competition wasn't made for tactical games like selecting the best way for driving a track (I think). Herbal, you should modify tracks, if the checkpoints were extremly bad set like at this track.

5th place, very nice! :bsmile:

Btw, I should have 11 points in team standings, not 9. And you have posted an old tips & ideas picture ;)

I don't agree. The rules were known for everyone, the shortcut was discussed before the deadline so people knew about it. And now the results have already been published. Why should that track be cancelled now?

Congrats to the fast people btw. :bg:

Even if the rules allow , I would not feel right to use such a device. I decided to follow the path of the track normally. :cool2:

Maybe have two classifications 1. those who shortcut, 2. those who don't.

That might be a good idea.

EDIT No.1: here are results without Pedra Furada.
Gainers were with shortcuts: kuba (+8), Herbal, Buka (+6)
And who followed original path: Alonso (-6), FogoRJ (-5), akouk, Reh (-3)

Note: I still consider the previous results as official!

EDIT No.2: login files have been set, you may race from now on. Good luck!

:iagree: with the guys.Hopefully Herbal will choose for the next rounds tracks that have minimum or no possibilities to shortcut.

And of course congrats to Richie. He would have won it anyway.Great drive :bg:

BTW I just hope, that this will open eyes to some people, what point of rules against shortcuts is (lwhen a flaw or a need to have checkpoints in a shape allows some unintended routes to be faster in overall) and what isn't (if somebody has or hasn't one tiny wheel on or behind even tinnier 1px wide side line).

And as these 2 also cases show, neither extreme seriousness nor extreme benevolence are optimally serving to the for-fun factor, the best is some instinct for middle path.

But just my :2c:.

I think, that there is a mistake with the login files. That are the tracks of Round 2. Or maybe I selected the wrong login link?
