My worst event in months. First feature race was OK, but than I missed a lap during the second race and after that I forgot to change settings fo SF race. Anyway, I wouldn't be in top-6 so I've lost nothing.

Actually, I race as Dynamo plays. :)

Now you should have one more. I really enjoyed this track - nice and fluent corners and I managed to avoid any awful lap which I had I every previous round.

Similarly like Reh, 2nd race was in better pace (however no crash in 1st), overall I hope it will be little bit better than previous week. :)

Good luck to all.

You can't overtake the AI's in Madrid, or am I just that bad?

It is really true, that at Jarama the AI is more competitive than at the rest of calendar, but I could manage to have a half lap advantage at first race. At the second one after pitting I've arrived back in race as third, but fortunately those AIs didn't hold me off that much, and could finish the race as first. Although I'm not sure, that I'll be as successful as I was last week. :sweatdrop:

Results have been arrived on mercator! Replays, as usual, are uploaded here.

Unfortunately there's a falling number of participants, however I've also got to admit that I've chosen a bit more difficult track, with strong AIs. Let's hope next week, at Silverstone more of you will join the fun! :yummy:

Ah and one more thing: being late in the competition doesn't mean anything, so if you want to race for your favourite team, don't hesitate to sign up for Superleague Formula! :goodvibes:

IMPORTANT NOTE:

As kuba has noted me via private message, I was at some cases too indulgent with the pitting rule in second races. That goes mostly to Trigger Happy and MD from round 2 and 4, and I've got proof for the same case for FogoRJ in round 3.

Since I have been busy at those times with my degree work, I couldn't care that much about replays. Actually, I consider last lap pitting as an unfair advantage, so I could punish them. However, as I was at fault, and I didn't declare this clearly earlier, I will NOT modify the results. But from Silverstone, the ones, who use the pits in the last lap, will be punished with 5 second!

In accordance to my words above, I've modified the rules of SLF on mercator.

Dammit, I thought all top5 drivers from the races would be accepted for the SF, but the rules say the six best scorers...I would have won the super final including the fastest lap. Thats hard. :weep:

Anyway congratz to the guys on top!

Sorry to say, but if you set rules ''make pit stop during the race'' without specifying any pit-stop window, then obviously such move is perfectly consistent with rule and fair, because in that case the timing is left by you only on individual driver's freedom in planning his race strategy. So IMHO you couldn't punish it, because it was neither a specified offence nor breaking of spirit of the rule and currently you're giving a penalty for what your other rule approves. But if you want to change the rules to forbid it and you'll make the rules consistent (by amending some limit in the rules about 2nd feature race), no problem. :-)
BTW talking about ''having proof'' is kinda funny, because Madd Dogg, FogoRJ and me know very well, that everyone (not only you) will see each other's strategy in the replays and can compare it with own, eventually follow it in other round. We could hardly think it's anyhow unfair, if we did so transparently to everyone. Personally I didn't watch of any round so far, so I'm rather surprised it was not more people. ;)

Actually, not adding a pit window does not mean, that you may use the pit lane at any time. You can spare about 2-3 seconds with having a pitstop in the last lap, since you don't need to pass through the entire pitlane. There was also a similar case in reallife, in Silverstone, 1998. There Schumacher did win the GP because he has pushed his visit to the boxes to the final lap and had crossed the finish line just before Häkkinen.

Your case is a bit different, since all of you have used the first pits in all questionned cases, so you have lost actually some time, and I can definitely see the intention to fulfill rules. But what if all of the pits are just after finish line? If I remember right, that's (fortunately) not the case at the circuits of Superleague, but what would I say if that would happen?

It's also important, that I am wanting to be cooperative, as somewhere it's also my interest to have more and more drivers. So of course a clarification should be done in pitting rules, and I've already introduced the last lap pitting punishment.
In the second feature race, you have a mandatory pit stop, which is to be done at any time of entire race, except for the last lap. Pit stop means visiting the pit crew and waiting until full change.
So, it this clear enough for you?

Actually it obviously does mean, because you have an error in the example:

Obviously there is such advantage, but strategies are here to be done in favour of drivers, it's nature of their existence, it cannot be against rules. Same this case - Schumacher did win the GP - because it was fair use of rules valid at that time, they had to change them for next GP/season (I don't recall it so in detail). Similarly I told, if you wish to change the rules, it OK for me. :)

BTW from fact, that I did that in 2nd race at Salvador too, is obvious, that this advantage in pit lane is not the reason, why I was doing it. There pit lane is not cut by s/f line, so in last lap I did run under limiters full distance of pit line like anybody else who stopped earlier, so I couldn't take advantage, which you suggest. (My reason is related merely to my driving style - same why I avoid participation in Hot Lap compos - I'm poor in effective use of fresh tyres, I'm faster with slightly worn).

Obviously I would make my pit stop in such case in penultimate lap to visit a pit crew at least once per the race (which certainly will be my strategy in further races, no reason for big secrets).
