Nice in Q make new TR... norm 0,2-0,3s slower that TR. In Monaco 0,25s slower...

Here are the Tracks for practice:
Monaco Grid

Again some small changes:

Rudy will explain ...

--------------------------------------------------

No penalty for Lorenzo at race in Jerez.
We interpret the 'fault' as normal race situation although overtaking
of the AI was nearly to the point of cutting. Because of announcing his
mistake by himself we only give a Warning this time.

But in future races, similar optimistic overtaking will be punished.
The normal way is to slow down and let AI overtake back to prevent penalty.

Changes to the track
As you can see on the picture above, we have made some changes to the track (as indicated by the red cars):
  • The entry of the Harbour Chicane had its concrete wall shortened. We placed a bunch of sunk tyres at the apex instead.
  • One sunk tyre was added inside the Harbour Chicane.
  • The entry of the Swimming Pool chicane was changed accordingly.
  • There are no more concretes at the apex of the final corner but a hay bale.
Pit exit
The actual pit exit remains right behind the Sainte-Dévote corner. There is no (white and continuous) line that you better watch out for when leaving the pit lane.
There is, however, a continuous yellow line on the main straight coming out of the pits. This line will be treated like the usual border of the track, which means that you better not cross it for your own benefit ($ 11.6). There will be no automatic penalties as § 11.8 does not apply.

Short-cutting
Speaking of "leaving the track with all four wheels to gain an advantage"! If you, as already implied, cross that yellow line right behind the pits, or if you go straight over the Harbour Chicane, we would recommend to slow down immediately and for a sufficiently long time, and to indicate your intention by pulling over to the side or zig-zagging. This way you may compensate for any gain in time yourself.

However, in case you did also pass another car within the whole (short-cutting) manoeuvre, you have to return track position to that AI car as well.

Made my race. Except a little crash on Portier when I was going to make a pit stop - no greater problems.

Now don't you dare to change those results and take away my point. :D Amazing thing, BTW, that I've lost maybe 5 to 10 seconds because of extra pitstop, while the rest of my race was quite good. But still I could be only 9th or 8th in perfect situation. I really want to watch those replays of people in front of me in the evening.

I would suggest downloading the season pack because of two reasons. 1) The cars and settings are slightly different. 2) If you want to compare your performance to the top drivers, you better take a look at what they are capable when it really matters. You can find the season pack (excluding some of the tracks and the mixed car configuration) here.

If you still want to practice at Budapest circuit, take a look at this post. There you can find everything you need to know about testing in Budapest. Be aware that we changed the settings during the second week of testing in Hockenheim.

One of my most disastrous qualifying sessions ever, but I'm very happy that after wasting two laps due to pit stop I managed to complete a lap worth a point, and even more happy that my teammate replaced me on the first row this time :)

Rudy, majortom, what about getting rid of that bridge (in sector 2) for the race? It seems to me that it'd be much easier for everyone to be able to see the braking point for that corner and have a bit more of control over the car. This track is annoying enough already, no need for additional obstacle :shhh:

I usually don't mind getting rid of anything as long as it helps driveability.

Edit: The bridge remains in place. The approach to the corner is blind and therefore a bit difficult, which I like. But you can still correct your entry and the view on the apex is not blocked whatsoever. Visually, it does not make sense to have a road missing an overpass. And the bridge is somewhat characteristic. However, if there was some sort of narrow bridge in GeneRally, I would probably modified that part of the track. Take Monaco for reference where the gates above the tunnel were originally much closer to each other.

Speaking of modifications: The view on the long straight along the river was quite horrible if you did not follow the racing line. I changed some gates and trees slightly. There are also changes on the sunk tyres in quite a lot of corners and the pit entry and exit.

Actually, my attempt wasn't so bad, but anyway... it's been a travesty of a race. Hope we'll get a bit more polished AI lines next time.

The original version of Indianapolis has quite some horrible AI lines, at least when used with the PGR F1 cars (and irregardless of the AI value of the vehicles). AIs are just cutting corners and crashing into sunks and walls. So I completely replaced the original AI line with my own. It might not look perfect, considering the mixed weather conditions, but it works a lot better than the old one. Cars missing the apex by a country mile because of the lack of grip might still be a thing around Indy. But if there was an easy solution to this, I would have already gotten rid of this problem.

In rainy conditions it's understandable, e.g. I had no complaints after Istanbul when AIs were losing 8-9 seconds each lap at some point, but here in Canada they were cutting and crashing all over the place and you never knew what to expect. Good we're moving to some more driver-friendly venues now, third street race in a row would be too much. :goodvibes:
