PGR F1 testing has begun!
Finally, PGR F1 is back from the winter break!
Week 1 of pre-season testing leads the pack to
Hungaroring near Budapest (01/08 - 07/08) before we are traveling to Germany and the
Hockenheimring (08/08 - 14/08).
During the first week we are going to introduce the provisional cars and recommend the settings for dry weather conditions to you. You will quickly notice that the cars are significantly slower than their predecessors. Cornering might pose a challenge and the tire wear is quite aggressive.
That is why we need your feedback!

General Information & FAQ
Before we start here is some general information on the game pack and the whole procedure of testing.
What is testing all about?
Pre-season testing is about getting to know the cars, settings and types of race tracks of the 2016 PGR F1 World Championship. At the same time we are hoping for feedback, especially on the car physics, in order to understand what most of you like best.
During the first week of testing we focus on the cars and settings for dry weather conditions. As far as the settings are concerned we only have a recommendation for you at this point of time. Your feedback will help us to adapt both cars and settings to your liking. The second week will see the cars and settings for wet and mixed weather conditions.
In contrast to the regular procedure during the season, you can test as much as you want. You can send us your Qualifyings and Races via mail - whenever you want. There will be periodically updated results on Twitter and here in this thread.
What about the login?
We are preparing your login account during the two weeks of testing. Password and nickname will be sent to you via mail. There will also be an opportunity to login and test the whole procedure. However, during the two weeks you can submit your race results without logging in.
What about the settings?
At this point of time there is only a recommendation. You can also try out different combinations between tyre wear and fuel mass for both Qualifying and Race and share your experience with us. You can find our recommendation in the graphic above.
There are different tracks inside the folder! What are they all about?
In the folder of week 1 (T1) you can find Hungaroring (HUN) in both its Qualifying (QF) and its Race (R) version and, both in dry weather conditions (D). The only difference between Qualifying and Race versions is the checkpoints. In week 2 we added one version for mixed/wet weather conditions (MW), respectively.
Why are there so many palettes?
In addition to dry.pal, mix.pal and wet.pal, there are now three more palettes for use in specific circumstances: a very dry one for circuits like Kyalami, one with more vibrant colors and a third one for use at Hockenheim. However, we are not yet sure if these palettes will be added to the 2016 season pack or if we post them for you to download when we need them.
Finally, you can also find a night palette, originally made by Maciej1, which has been adjusted to display various shades of blue, which we used on the Manor and the Red Bull. Does that mean there is a night race to come in 2016? Probably not, sorry.
There is an empty directory within the sounds folder!
We might add some engine sounds to the pack, all based on the 2015 sound pack. But that is at the very bottom of our list.
Now that I raced, where to submit my files?
Please send your files to f1 [at] planetgenerally [dot] de. You might want to use Majortom's Competition Zipper to collect all the files we need. It comes with the game pack.
What about the rulebook? The link inside the pack is outdated!
We will update the rulebook once the settings are set in stone. Until then the 2015 version will do.
Where goes my feedback?
Please send me a PM with your criticism, ideas, bug reports or your general feedback. That is just quickest and I can reply to you without spamming this thread. Thanks!
