Global Endurance Masters 2018 - Manager Competition

Post by Gzehoo »

Global Endurance Masters (GEM) 2018

STARTLIST
CALENDAR
CLASSIFICATIONS

Competition manager based on WEC and IES, but races may be longer than IES (e.g. 40 minutes as 4h race).

Instead of racing, you're a team manager and starting from lowest category in these long-distance races, you need to prepare your car, which you can upgrade during the season, and sign 2 drivers for each race - which are AI players.

Comparing to original WEC, there will be 3 categories: OP1, OP2, OP3 - all of them based on Open Prototype Specification.

There will be two types of races: 4h (selected by participants) and 10h (Sebring and Le Mans).
GEM race scale is 1h -> 10min, so 4h races will be 40 minutes in GR, while 10h will be 100 minutes.

Here is official calendar:

Code: Select all

T1. Monza 3h (GEM Prologue)  30 minutes    11/03/2018

01. Donington 4h             40 minutes    25/03/2018
02. Anderstorp 4h            40 minutes    15/04/2018
03. Kyalami 4h               40 minutes    29/04/2018
04. Phillip Island 4h        40 minutes    13/05/2018
05. Sebring 10h             100 minutes    10/06/2018
06. Mt Tremblant 4h          40 minutes    08/07/2018
07. Buenos Aires 4h          40 minutes    29/07/2018
08. Mugello 4h               40 minutes    02/09/2018
09. Zandvoort 4h             40 minutes    16/09/2018
10. Le Mans 10h             100 minutes    14/10/2018
Point system:
For 4h races: 20-15-11-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 + 0.5 for every driver on 11th and lower;
For 10h races: 40-30-23-19-16-13-10-8-6-4-2-1 + 0.5 for every driver on 13th and lower;

OP1 will be based on original LMP1, so we'll see the same teams as in WEC (Toyota + privateers), adding also Audi and Porsche to make 3 factory teams.
OP2 will be based on original LMP2 cars (Ligier, Dallara, Oreca) and fictional teams, taken from other games.
OP3 will be based on original LMP3 cars (Ligier, Norma) and own constructions.

Every team will start in this manager from OP3 class, having 3 options about team car:
-create it basing on OP3 specification (will be published in this topic);
-take a car by indepedent constructor (Ligier, Norma);
-talk with other constructor about using its car (what may cause a cooperation, like 'satellite' team);
To sign up this competition, copy this code below in a reply for this topic.
Deadline is at 10th March!

If there will be at least 4 people interested, I would start with manager.

Anyway, I want to show more info about that.

OP1 will be based on original LMP1, so we'll see the same teams as in WEC (Toyota + privateers), adding also Audi and Porsche to make 3 factory teams.

One thing which I want to ask you - should I use RWL tracks, even if it will be 4h race instead of 6h and 10h instead of 24h?
Or maybe use fictional tracks, but styled for RWL and made with real location (like zgr's World Tour)?

Idk... But if you'll use real cars, maybe use real tracks :scratch: Both options works for me, though...

So, I'll use RWL tracks.

I can confirm that 10h races (100 minutes) will be at Sebring and Le Mans. The rest of 8 races - 4h (40 minutes) - will be on other RWL tracks, selected in poll (like in IES).

==================================================

And now, I want to show something about upgrades.

There are two types of upgrades: car physic (I) and game settings (II).

I. Making your own car with Open Prototype Specification, you will use 15 physic points.
There are 45 physic points available for every constructor.
Points used by constructor (grey) are for free, and another points (colors) will be available to buy.
upgrades.png
upgrades.png (4.68 KiB) Viewed 20363 times
II. Default settings for each driver are:
Tyre wear: 6%
Fuel consumption: 10%
Fuel mass: 60kg

There are 5 levels of tyres upgrade and 4 levels of fuel upgrade.
Buying tyres upgrade level, tyre wear for each team is decreased by 1%.
Buying fuel upgrade level, fuel consumption is decreased by 1% and fuel mass is increased by 10kg - what gives you a possibility to make more laps before refueling.

It may cause that final settings for each team will be:
Tyre wear: 1%
Fuel consumption: 6%
Fuel mass: 100kg

Going to show more info later, if something is not explained - please write.

Added poll in the first post about tracks.

Voting is the same as it was for IES - this time, we have more tracks.

Also, specification is added. Nothing extraordinary comapring to IES, but this time every constructor will start from OP3.

Nice to see 5 teams :)

I'll send for every team manager a list of all drivers available for GEM 2018.

Every team's budget will be $1.500.000 as everyone starts from OP3.

In the attachment you can see a list of prices for upgrades.

Every driver will cost $150.000.
Upgrade price - car physics

upgrades-1.png (11.44 KiB) Viewed 20144 times
Upgrades price - in-game settings
Upgrades price - in-game settings
upgrades-2.png (2.44 KiB) Viewed 20144 times
About the car - you can make your own construction using OP3 specification (1st post) or use independent car.

Independent car costs $500.000 and upgrades are cheaper than in own construction.

Making own car is more expensive, but making your own car you get 15 physic points for free.
Also, the prize of the car depends on how did you use physic points. Price shown in the table is in case of giving 5 points for Air Resistance, Downforce and Power.
Team which is decided to use other's car, will pay for upgrades independently from factory team.

Transfer Window #1 is now open. Deadline is at 26th February, 12:00 CET.

I sent PM to every team manager who joined before opening this transfer window.

Every team which will join from now, won't be able to join Transfer Window #1. But they will be able to join Transfer Window #2.

In the first post there are 2 cars for OP3 - Ligier JS P3 and Norma M30, if any team needs to make his own car or is going to use independent construction.

Team paints are required, some parts can be painted in other colors to distinguish both drivers.

Still 3 days left for the end of Transfer Window #1. At this moment 4 of 5 managers already selected their drivers.

In the meantime, here is prize system in the manager.

There are two types of prizes:

#1. Prize depending on driver's position in his class.
Prize system.<br /><br />Drivers on position 11th and lower in 4h race (or 13th and lower in 10h race) get the same prize.
Prize system.

Drivers on position 11th and lower in 4h race (or 13th and lower in 10h race) get the same prize.
#2. Prize depending on driver's position in overall classification.

It depends on the number of drivers participating in all categories.
It's calculated by following formula:

P = (N - Pos + 1) * A * B

Where:
P - prize;
N - number of drivers participating in each race;
Pos - driver's position in overall race classification;
A - value depending on race length (4h race - $1000; 10h race - $2000)
B - multiplier depending on driver's category:
OP1 - 100%;
OP2 - 85%;
OP3 - 70%;

E.g. in the race with 46 drivers (from all classes), team gets $46,000 if his OP1 driver wins. If it was OP2 driver, OP2 team gets $39,100. In case of OP3 driver it's $32,200.

For the last place in overall classification, it's $1000 for OP1 driver, $850 for OP2 and $700 for OP3.

Both prizes are given for team. Individual prize (#1) counts for driver's value after the season.

If there are any questions or propositions about that, please write.

Transfer Window #1 finished.

In the first post I uploaded startlist for GEM 2018.

In OP1 there are already selected 10 drivers, which (due to age limit in OP3) were signed earlier (in OP3 it's max 28 years old, these drivers are 30).

darkracer99 and Marco selected the same driver, but darkracer99 sent his message earlier.

Marco and ivaneurope can still select their drivers via PM.

Signing up is available until 3rd March, when I'm going to make GEM Prologue at Monza.

Yeah, I know it's a little bit strange I'm using teams from other games... but I just didn't have any idea about the team names.

Anyway, they are just 'neutral' teams in my manager; not updating their car and to make a guarantee there will be at least 14 drivers on grid.
If any other team manager will sign up, they will be removed (at least in OP3).
