Post by MD »

Vuvuzela Challange of South Africa
Ladies and Gentlemen! FIFA World Cup 2010 has ended Sunday (I hope you've enjoyed the matches). But vuvuzelas still cannot fall silent. People are streaming out the the football stadiums and they don't take the direction to home but to the race tracks.
Now we know who's the best on the grass so let's see who's the best on the asphalt.

Entry list:
Image
Rules:
Everyone can take part in Vuvuzela Challange of South Africa (VCoSA) until hasn't banned due to behaviour
(intended and usual ignoration of rules, cheating unadequate communication on GRIF, etc.).
You can sign up in the GRIF's VCoSA topic in the championships thread by giving the following datas:
Nickname
Nationality
E-mail
Number
Car
Color code
(e.: 255-15-0 / 135-135-255) - or an indication that you'll send livery via e-mail
Team name

You have to take part in a team.
A team can consist of one, two or three members.
A team's members don't have to use the same paintjob but it should show somekind of convergence
VCoSA consits of five rounds - three events, two weeks per round

1 - HOTLAP
The first week's event
You have to run hotlap before the deadline - HL doesn't need login
You have to use the standard VCoSA settings (learn more later) furthermore RACE LENGHT: 5 laps
Do not use AIs, ghost car is optional
Use the pitless version of the tracks included by the Official VCoSA pack
Your HL is valid if you send the the following files in a .zip/.rar file via e-mail before the deadline:
Screenshot (use F12) from your start (name example: Madd Dogg_HL1_start.bmp)
Screenshot from your finish (name example: Madd Dogg_HL1_finish.bmp)
The .trk file what you have used (name example: Madd Dogg_HL1.trk)
The saved game (name example: Madd Dogg_HL1.gam)

2 - TIME TRIAL
The first week's event
You have to run TT before the deadline - LOGIN IS NEEDED
You have to use the standard VCoSA settings furthermore GHOST CAR: off, RACE LENGHT: 10 kilometres
Do not use AIs
Using the pit is allowed but not necessary
After loging in you have 8 minutes to send the following files via e-mail
A screenshot from the end of the race (name example: Madd Dogg_TT1.bmp)
The saved game (name example: Madd Dogg_TT1.gam)

3 - RACE
The second week's event
You have to run the race before the deadline - LOGIN IS NEEDED
You have to use the standard VCoSA settings furthermore RACE LENGHT: 25 kilometres
You have to use the 5 official AIs included by the VCoSA pack
Start the race from the pole position* (learn more about it at the rounds' system)
Using the pit is allowed but not necessary
After loging in you have 17 minutes to send the following files via e-mail
A screenshot from the end of the race (name example: Madd Dogg_R1.bmp)
The saved game (name example: Madd Dogg_R1.gam)

Standard VCoSA settings should be used for HL, TT and Race too. These are the following:
Tyre wear: 6%
Fuel consumtion: 5%
Fuel mass: 50kg
Damage: 15%
Game speed: 100%

Other, special settings has been marked before

Each rounds will be based on the following system:
On the first week you have to complete the HL and the TT.
The second week is for the Race.
The Race's grid is based on the results of the TT and the HL.
The best lap of your HL will be added to the whole time of your TT.
If you miss the HL 60 seconds will be added to your TT's result.
If you miss the TT (or both of the TT and the HL) you have to start from the pits.
When you login for the Race you get your own version of the track and the pole position is
what you have reached at the first week (if you have to start from the pits the pit pose is the pole)
Cutting the track and using the white/yellow lines in the pit is forbidden.
In the case of HL only your best lap have to be clear.

Those penalized who fail to comply the rules:
In the case of the HL if your best lap isn't clear than your best clear lap will be counted
(as you haven't any clear laps than 60 seconds will be counted as your best)
Lap cutting and using the lines in the pits on the TT and the Race: 3-15 seconds time penality
Wrong settings: 15 seconds to BOP or DSQ
(In the case of HL: 60 seconds) and a "yellow card" via e-mail
Missing files: BOP
(In the case of HL: 60 seconds)
Suspicion of saving and reloading or other cheats: BOP or DSQ and "yellow card" via e-mail
Late submission: the time of your late will added to your time
Two "yellow cards" equal to a "red card" what is mean you cannot take part in VCoSA anymore

I know all the tracks and cars, so I don't need to test the game pack before sign up, but it would be cool to have it. Cannot wait, when last permissions will be received. I'm in.

Okay than, website is on, game pack is downloadable :)
But to be honest it is still unofficial until Fechna's permission, despite I think he wouldn't mind my changes. It is all just for the case of safe.
So you can start practicing now :bg:
(And BTW if you find any kind of mistake of mine you can also sign it in this topic.)

Login informations will be started to send in the weekend.

@alexwolf: :wave: Greetings here! Let me know your car too.

Code: Select all

Two "yellow cards" equal to a "red card" what is mean you cannot take part in VCoSA anymore
Isn't it too harsh? Maybe only one round missing would be better. :scratch:

Hi Madd Dogg ,
In the Hot Lap modality is more interesting : tire wear = 0% and Fuel Comsumption = 0%? :nod:
What do you think, guys? :scratch:

Nice to see you guys again and nice to see this pack together :)
Greetings for you all! :wave:

@Buka: well, yellow flag and DSQ is only for the really serious cases. Suspicion of cheating and wrong settings can be in a pretty big interval. As I don't wanna make the compo to be about punishments, the system of the "cards" may works effectively - cause I'm sure I don't need to use a "red card" at all.
BTW I'm thinking about changing on the basic of your proposal :scratch:

O Hai resir014, LorSong! :wave:

@LorSong: as you team up with Buka you need to use the same car and a similar paintjob (it is because we know on the track who is the teammate of who).

@FogoRJ: pardon for the late reaction. Well I created the settings for make the compo real. On the other hand it would be more complicated always changing the settings on the first week of each rounds. But as we will be more I will start a poll at the latest 5 days before the first HL/TT round's deadline. Than we will see what would be the most ideal for the racers.
Thanks for proposing.

@Everyone: color of AI04 has changed because of the blue's popularity :D Please download the refreshed pack.

I would like to join.
Any volounteer open to accept a very poor rookie in his team?
Be warned that i will drive the team to lower edge of the ranking :hammer:
And probably i'll miss some of the events
Plus i only attended the Rookie Championship, so i'm not so skilled about more complex competition
But i like to have fun!!!

If not i will run on my own (car and color could change in case somebody pick me as teammate):
* ilbianchi
* Italy
* ilbianchi :) hotmail.com
* #57
* Car
* Color 255-255-0 / 0-0-0

Thank you
