the need to log in and staying logged in

Post by Bouncebackability »

recent weeks ive noticed that i must be logged in to see attatchments, now i dont mind this, although it was much easier looking at screenshots without the need to log in, (also for someone new casually browsing for GeneRally and needing to sign up to see this, isnt good) so i disagree with this tactic. but whatsmore ,i dont stay logged in for more than 2 minutes, so by the time ive read a couple of posts on a thread, i go back, click the next one and i need to log in again. ive just logged in three times in 7 minutes so thought its about time i said something as this is incredibly frustrating!

Cheers,
BBA!

edit: having said that it managed to stay logged in whilst i wrote the above... and edit this...

sorry for the double post, but this emphasises my point...

i went to edit the above post to say that even though it says im not logged in and cant view any attachments, im still shown as logged in on the names at the bottom of the index page. but as i went to edit i needed to sign in, which sent me back to the index page, i clicked 'support', and i had been signed out again.

i wonder to myself if this is a to do with some personal settings on my computer but this is only website or forum that this is happening...

Did you check box with 'Log me every time I visit this forum'? I don't have any problems with logging, even at computer on my job where this box is unchecked. It stays logged in for some period of time but much longer than 2 minutes. And at home where this box is checked I'm always logged in.

Which browser do you use, BBA? Is it generally occurring in all your browsers?

Yes, turning cookies off could cause this problem. ;)

Never noticed on any of the copies of Vista I've been running over the past 5 days. Works for me in Google Chrome.

I've never had a problem with it except when browsing history gets deleted. Staying logged in worked fine for me on IE7, and currently works fine on IE8 and Google Chrome
No nominations for a whole year, then 2 come along at once!! Thanks guys :)

:iagree:
This sometimes happens with me too :shake:
When I'm log, I click in "Log me automatically on each visit", and guess who happens when I close my Internet Browser and re-open?
I have to login again.
Is so boring :shake3:
