"Dear diary"

Has something spectacularly amazing happened to you today? Something that you just HAVE TO tell to everyone but there is no one listening? Is something troubling you? Did you just drive over that poor man?! Or is there something going to happen tomorrow? Are you troubled on what to eat this evening?(no wait, don't ask for recipes...)

Then you have come to the right thread!

Time to share your feelings with the other people of the board. The thread is done so you can post what has happened to you and what propably will happen the next day. Remember, you wouldn't write your real diary about something that is going to happen in the next year or two. Unless you are "Uaaaaaaah so excited!!" about some great event coming next week.

(And the thread is also done to release some of the boredom of Raphael. :P /jk)

The thing is, try to post rather one major update thingie where you list all that is happening rather than posting one sentence in the morning, one in the evening and one at night. Unless there reeeeeallly is something major that has just happened", like some 5 minutes ago since I was so cool". It's easier for people to respond too. And we won't make Ivo that angry. :D /jk

And please please, keep political and religious rants away. Those are disallowed in most of the forums and... Well... To be honest, they are pretty boring too. And fights are no good.

Anyways, time to start.

Dear diary:

Hmm, I had a little seminar where I showed the equipment I have been developing the whole summer. I had been stressing about it for the whole week since now I would show it to the person who has ordered the project. Aaaaaaaand... "Oh sorry I forgot that we were supposed to have this kind of a meeting. Oh well, maybe some other time lol." :headbang: So it was a little RAGE RAGE RAGE moment inside my head, but whatever. I would still keep it to the other people. I guess it went nicely. We are well in schedule and have about 3 weeks of time to finish everything. So now it is mostly down to writing the reports and everything. Unfortunately I can't tell much about the project here because of the contracts, but let's say that I have been creating equipment for old people to use. And I'm studying ICT... This thing has had nothing to do with ICT. Welp, at least I have learned project management. And I don't understand how some people can just freeload so easily. We have a person that has done _nothing_ during the whole 3 months time and yet he can be in the group. Welp, once we get to give the final ratings... I'll give a 0. And I'm sure the others will give too.

The sky seems to be a bit gray. It was supposed to rain at 2pm(now it's a bit over it). I was planning on going home at 3pm. I'm placing bets on the rain starting at exactly 14:55 when I have to step outside and walk to the railway station. It wouldn't be the first time that has happened to me this summer.

Ooh ooh! We finally had some thunder here too! The forecast have been betting for thunder around this area for the whole July, but it NEVER got here. Last weekend it even did a 90 degree turn to avoid us. I mean, how can a cloud just do a sharp 90 degree turn about 20 kilometers away from us. It's just not possible. And the cloud even did a beautiful arc around us. Unbelievable. Seriously.
But yes, it hit us last night! At 2 am, to be exact. And well it missed us a little again, but it was close enough so we could actually see something. None of the strikes hit near us, though. They are saying another thunder would hit us on Friday. But then I'll be in Helsinki in Assembly.

And this brings us to the next topic(yeaaah!), Assembly 2010 summer is here! And I'll be there! 4 days of sitting in front of a computer with about 2600 other people. I'm going with my friends. We bought 6 places, but now there's 5 people coming. I have two places. Ohh yes, space! Well there was supposed to be someone next to me but... A little bit of this and that happened and now the place is empty. Which is good, really. Space is always good. I'll be joining the music compo and the fast music compo. Those songs will be posted in the music stuff thread once the event is over. Let's hope that they get some good places. :) Last year the fast music song I did got to 6th place out of... about 15 songs. I had a song for the music compo too, but that never got to their servers so I got disqualified. I'm sure it would have gotten a good place too.

Uhh, still about 30 minutes before I can leave. Or maybe I should just take the train that leaves in 20 minutes. But then I have to walk quickly... I don't know. Oh, it's that windy, I couldn't walk fast enough. Maybe I'll just wait for the next train. So... Time to get back into writing the report. (Yes, this is a great way to spend the time. :D )

Nice thread :)

@ 1nsane: Good luck for the music compo :D
@ TGF:  The musician-charm that you earned from drums was super effective, wasn't it?

I won't say much about this day because it wasn't anything special: woke up at 12/had lunch/played guitar/and now checking the forums while waiting for my cousin to get here. Today it's quite cold so I'm not so motivated to go outside.

Hint for all the people searching and having girlfriends, just don't... They will cause just trouble in the end.

But yeah, the first day is now pretty much done at Assembly!

The fast music song qualified to be played for people! That song just really caused some problems. I had used about 30 minutes of the allowed 1,5 hours and I had _nothing_ done. And the given notes weren't exactly the easiest ones. But in the end I guess the song is... good enough. Maybe the top 5 place is even reality. I made it a bit fast though, so it might not be liked by everyone.

Tehee, my volumes have been lowered by the security guys once already. :P

Hmm, I was supposed to stay awake for 24 hours atleast for the first day, but man that set by Proteus was just so wild that it really drained out the energy. Maybe I'll go a bit later. I'm sweating so much right now anyway.

He is right, TGF, even in the most optimistic scenario. At least her funeral will be the trouble in the end. Or yours for her, if we want to be statistically precise (female widows are more often). But a trouble will come to end always anyway.

So both of the songs got qualified and will be played for the crowd today! First one will come at around 1pm, the second one at around 3pm. So now I have just been watching some anime series' and played some more of the tank game. Quite a lot of it actually. The whole yesterday evening and night, to be more exact. And well then I have been playing some cool music again. I didn't go to the raves even, since we played until 4am. Now it's getting pretty cold here. There's so few people on their computers. Everyone's sleeping... I slept a few hours too, but I did it the sitting style. It's just so not healthy.

This whole day will be filled with compos, so I guess there won't be any updates from me for the rest of the day.

Well, I believe my situation shall be looked at in the next few days, as very soon I shall have a "new" car! Yay! :rolf:

*-I say new, it will be 2 years younger than my current car. Which makes it... 33 years old.

@Doorslammer: Hmm, I'm interested to see what that... "new" car is. :)

And... Assembly is now over. Well, it was on sunday already, but I just didn't have time to do a longish update here yet.

Man, did I have a lot of fun there! It was 4 days filled with joy.

And then the compo results. The fast music compo song got a 6th place out of... about 15 songs. And the music compo song got 7th place out of... 66 songs! Once I saw the amount of songs that had been sent to the competition, I was just amazed. 7th out of 66. The chance to even have my song played with the top 15 was enough, but 7th place. It really exceeded my expectations.
Here is the song:

(and a live version behind this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsYxNmPVyro

And here is a little recap of the 4 days:

Next year I'll definitely go again!

We also had a huge thunder storm on sunday night. We lost the power for 1-2 hours that night and there was a tree fallen pretty close to us. But the lightnings were beautiful. The wind in the beginning of the storm was rather scary though. We have been having these very big downbursts all around Finland this week, and looks like we also got hit by one. It wasn't that big, but still big enough to do some damage. Not on our yard though.

(Edit PS: Post 303, the best synth there is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_TB-303 )

Yesterday evening I went to a esperanto-meeting here in Saenz Peña. I was expecting many people but in the end it was really a disaster: basically I had to listen to 3 fossiles speaking about their problems for 2,5 hours. After that I went to my cousin's birthday who is now 24 years old :D After that I stayed at my cousin's house and we played Mario Tennis 64 until the computer shut down. We realised that the processor was really hot and the computer shutted to avoid burning it. After that we tried to clean a bit the fan cos it was filthy but it seemed that things got only worse because the computer was shutting down, even before getting to windows. So we decided to just talk in the garden and I stayed up until 5, when I decided to go to sleep since it was really cold and I didn't have any other heavier cloth at my cousin's house.
Today I woke up at 12 to eat some lasagna and then I slept until 15, when I came back at my grandma's house. After a while I met my other cousin, her 2-years-old daughter and his husband (who no one in my family likes). I hadn't seen her in 4 years so it was quite nice to meet.

@Doorslammer: That looks cool! :) (No, I didn't get the joke. :D )
@Quklis: Don't worry, most likely you won't have much to do on the rest of the year either. Except for playing games... :P

Sooooooooo yeah... I kinda haven't been able to come here, or use the Internet at all since last Friday. And the reason... Some smart guy snapped the fibre optic cable. Yes, the main cable for the area where I live... Good job that guy!

We had a nice family party on Saturday. A relative got 50 years old. Even though the party was pretty small, only about 15 people, there still was enough of noise and laughter for 50 people party.

Right now I'm using the computer at school... They decided to get new mouses and keyboards to this class room. The mouse is bad,a Fujitsu toy mouse that feels so plastic and weak that I think these will be broken in one year. And the keyboards are... White. Ok, white looks nice for the first month, but seriously. They already have a strange brown surrounding on the keys after under two months of use. And the real school haven't even started yet, so I'm afraid to see these after one year of school. And someone has taken off the air conditioning of this room so it's pretty hot there now.

Actually, the computers don't have Flash or Java included in them and you can't install them :shake: , so playing web games is impossible.. Though of course it's possible to take usb stick and put games there to play :hide: . GBA Emulator

Hello diary.
Just came back from a 4 days trip. I went in Paraguay and Brazil with my uncle's car and my family. It was quite nice, cos I went to Iguazu Waterfalls, where a Coati stole our lunch. It litterally jumped on my mom's plastic bag and he tore it with his claws. Then he ate everything that came out from the bag.
I would also like to say that paraguayan police officers are really b***ards. We met 2 of them, and both asked for a bribe.

But that animal is sooo cute, so it can steal the lunch. The police aren't that cute though...

Also, an update to the connection situation. It works! Somehow... It's certainly not at it's maximum speed yet, but atleast it works now. Uff, I'm atleast 3 hours behind of the weekly anime schedule now. And then atleast 2 hours of youtube subscriptions.

Hi Diary!

Today we went to drive the karts. They were the real deal. And wow that was fun! First off was the Q1, which I pretty much dominated, getting 45.00, while the closest one to me had... About 45.50 I guess. Then the other ones were driving some 50.XX times. Everytime I was pushing hard someone came on my way, so there was still some seconds I could have taken off.

In Q2 there was a better level, best one getting 42.XX, second 43.XX. But I was still third. And I knew I could get atleast a second or two out of the time if I just had the same car and now that I knew the proper lines and braking points, and there would be no one slowing me down.
But I didn't. They had taken the smaller seat away from my kart and so the seat was just way too big. So I was sliding all around the bench in the curves. In the second lap I was already lapping someone in front of me anyway. But I missed the braking badly and off I went! And that was a bit rough off too. There were some huge drops (for a kart) and my kart bounced on all of them. The guy behind me told that it threw some sparks and flew quite high. :D In the same process some stones also flew between my back and the bench. I started to feel them during the rest of the laps. I really felt them... REALLY REALLY felt them. And now I have 3 bruises on my back, the smallest one being maybe 4cm in diameter and the largest.. Well it is large. I also have some bruises on my knees and my waist because of the seat and the tank.
But oh man the grip in those machines! They did exactly what I wanted and always went just as I wanted. As I gained even more of confidence on the machine during the racing laps, I started to push the braking points later and later, not even braking into some of the corners. It just didn't need it. The last corner was a long and pretty tight right hander, but it was still full throttle. And it was bouncy like... hills, so thanks to the too big bench I was just shaking all around the place. The machine was so often close to spin, but it got fixed by adding some more POWARRR.

We are going to do it again the next summer. And I will definitely be there.

I'm starting writing here. :D

Hi diary, today was a day that i want to forget to me.
I was going to the psycologist, and when i was at the elevator, i pressed the emergency button instead of the doors closing one. It was so embarassing! everybody was looking at me.. :? By the way, it was cool because i left the school earlyer to go to the psycologist. :flip: Well, and at school i missed the Physics Education class. (another :flip: , because i hate P.E. classes.) And now i am at the computer, alone at home, cause my mother is hanging out with her boyfriend, and my grandmother is on my uncle birthday party, that i prefered to stay at home.

I know this isn't bigger as the other ones, but it will be bigger when something really unnormal happen. ;)
