Boardgame. anyone?

Post by The lost Ninja »

Just thought it would be fun to post our favorite boardgames here,
maybe with your own reviews, or experiences.

Each year, we make a trip to the Boardgame-fair in Essen, Germany.
Here you can see & try the newest boardgames, great show every year!

Some of my all-time favorites :

- Agricola
- Puerto Rico
- Carcassonne
- Bohnanza
- Dumm gelaufen!
- Siedler von Catan - Das Kartenspiel (Settlers of Catan - The cardgame)
- Memoir '44
- Kontor
- Cartagena
- Kill Dr. Lucky
- Zombies!
- Kakerlakenpoker

Welp... I don't really have any people to play boardgames with, so I don't play too much of them.
Carcassone is great fun though, that's what I play with my sister and co.

My favorite and the one I'm best in: Monopoly! Great classic I know but I just can't resist buy the first to purples and put hotels for 50$ on them... People're saying "Hey, it's pretty stupid", but them they jump on those sites and... hum... "give me 500$ please :D" Buying the last two light blue ones I like too ^^ Anyone knows Jungle Speed?

Yes, I do have the standard game of Munchkin, tried it only once.
Never found the right opponents to play with, think we'll have to change this situation very soon!
Thanks for reminding me. :D

That's pretty much my situation as well, apart from the fact that I play Carcassone with my friends, not my sister (which I don't have).

If you want to get hooked on something legal (besides GR), you should really give it a try.

You got THAT right, I own 4 (yes four) copies of Carcassonne, including a special edition metal box, many expansions, some self-made expansions, and carcassonne: hunters & gatherers.
At the moment, my collection features about 140 Boardgames, cardgames, and dexterity games.
My last game is a copy of Waterloo, it is sold out everywhere (Limited to 1500 pieces). I mailed the author himself (Martin Wallace), and asked him if they planned to do a re-release of it, then he answered that they had 2 copies hidden somewhere in their warehouse.
So now I have one of them. :)

And I really don't like triviand (Trivial pursuit), and almost hate monopoly!! ;)

I've played chess about 50 times but I've only won twice :weep: . Both victories come in Home (Playstation 3 social area) and both were against a couple of German guys, hehe.
