Very sad :( I watched FP2 and suddenly there was red flag.

I remember him from 2013 when he was fighting for Moto3 championship.

Didn't watch the session but hearing the news on Twitter, it was saddening. And yes, he was one young talent, and he's gone way too soon.

Race in Peace, Salom.

R.I.P. Salom
I read it on facebook and rewatch the fatal accident...still don't understand why the MotoGP won't use the F1-Layout or why there are no sand run-off areas at the top of the turn

This should not be a fatal one IMO..

R.I.P Luis Salom :coffin:
I agree with zgr, if there were sand or gravel at least, he'd probably be alive. Maybe the organizers will realize that tracks needs sand/gravel not asphalt run-offs

I also agree. Gravel run-off areas would have saved him. Also, if something (Bike or cars) fail to break at around 300km/h, then with asphalt run-off you'll crash with around 250km/h, with gravel run-off only with around 150-200km/h IMO. :meditate:

Also, gravel punishes errors, asphalt only benefits them. So, it's good Monza makes the Parabolica run-off to full gravel again. :bsmile:

As I'm watching MotoGP since 2000, I remember him - his first victory at Laguna Seca 2005 and his road to championship in 2006.
