Very sad news when I heard about Richardson this morning, what a tragedy.

Scottish rider Mark Buckley has died following an accident in the Superstock race at the Relentless International North West 200 in Northern Ireland.
The 35-year-old from Loch Lomond fell on the opening lap of the race at the Mill Road section of the 8.9-mile circuit.
The race was stopped and later restarted.
Mr Buckley was competing for the British Superbike Splitlath Redmond Aprilia team at the international road race meeting and was due to ride for the team at the Isle of Man TT next month.
Mervyn Whyte, North West 200 event director, said he was 'devastated 'by the tragic news.
“We are devastated by the news that Mark Buckley has died in hospital following an incident during the Superstock race at today's International North West 200,” said Whyte.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Jayne and we extend our deepest sympathies to the entire family circle.
“There were no other riders involved in the incident.”
Mr Buckley was a regular competitor at the North West 200.

I'd rather say the unfortunate one from Montreal's post-start crash, but neither can recall his name nor am sure by it atm. Why, Dukla?
@Ivo: Yesterday, it was exactly 30 years ago when he passed.
@Luke: How did you come up with Senna & Prost?

I was just guessing, it looked a bit like Prost but the hair was like Senna... or something xD

Ah, I thought there was gap of season or two between his and Villeneuve's accident, not just few weeks.

Co-Driver Gareth Roberts has been killed in the Intercontinental Rally Championship event on the Targa Florio rally this weekend. The remainder of the event has now been cancelled.
I actually first met him proper during the event at Sydney (the first bit of video where he's being interviewed) as we pitted alongside him. We watched as he overcame a potentially event-ending engine component breakage on the very first evening to go on and win that event (the final race of which was that 5.87 time).
It's always the characters in life that go first. The world is poorer for that...

Three years have gone by since Henry Surtees went away from us...I don't want to remember that horrible accident, when a loose tyre...you know the rest. (I will not post the video.)

to Valerio Catelani and his beloved Daniela Bertoneri, who didn't manage to escape from their burning 207 S2000 trapped in a hole next to road (!) during Rally di Lucca (it).

Good grief, in this day and age, how could that happen? Fuel tanks are supposed to be designed to prevent that!

This year has been pretty horrible for rally drivers so far. And this latest one is the worst way to go, too. :/

It is very sad, but it's a coincidence that many fatal crashes happened in rally these days.
