But it's related to this topic, so moved. ;) It's nice number (better than number of users). And it took us almost year btw, because on 26th the GRIF will have 1st birthday (less then 2 weeks). :-D

Fortunately less then 30% of the posts are the part of these talks about everything and nothing (chat), rest of them is quite related to GR. :bsmile: So thanks to all, who are posting stuff for us of any kind, don't hesitate to tell, what they like or dislike or at least have fun here in chat. :bg:

Surprising this has been on for just a year. It feels like this place has been up for a longer time.

I'm happy that the forum is still active. And 1579 members isn't that bad either IMO. :)
Too bad there is a lot fewer active members though.

I will say one thing. I have been very surprised that even with a wholesale shift in where we post and talk, the community is possibly at it's biggest and brightest for years. I think that says a lot about the longevity and simplicity of the game... :)

Haha, we are the polite spammer gang! :D

And indeed, it is quite nice to see that the community is actually still growing and developing even with all the mishaps during those "black years". It could have gone wrong last christmas, but thankfully the place was saved. :bsmile:

Yeah! It's true!

In Brazilian Forum we have 658 members actually, but there is an intense battle, I VS spammers. Everyday enrolls a new member/spammer, practically. :yummy:

Improve the anti-spam system, if needed browse phpbb support forum (it's very discussed there) or upgrade to current version of the system, if it isn't (current is 3.08 IIRC). :)

Dunno is it related here, but I was quite suprised when I saw that v1.10b has been downloaded 23000 times in 4 days already.
For now we got almost 2000 members but ofc not everyone are active so where are those downloads from? :D
Other :gr: communities arent so big afaik

@ZeroCool: It contains the v1.10 downloads, too. Otherwise I hardly believe it can be possible.
Gr1.10 (not b) had 15k downloads after 4 weeks or sth after the release, and now 23k downloads...
Btw are there other GR communities (except the german/italian/brasilian/... forums for the native speakers)?

When I looked closely after release of 1.10b, there was slightly more than 20 000, so it's very close number to final downloads of 1.10.

i cannot get my head around that, where are all these people, or is everyone downloading it 50 times? i mean are 15,000 of these people just racing the original tracks all the time, especially considering the number that downloaded the update, it's just baffling  i did wonder maybe there was a mistake somehow with an extra zero, but i don't see how

I don't know, maybe yes .. If I count number of websites, which were linking to old official page during the years (all e-zines, personal pages, freegaming webs etc) in so many languages and this old page now redirects to the gene-rally.com, it can be very nice source of downloads ... but it doesn't mean, that each of the person immediately wish to subscribe to ''an unofficial forum'' (e.g. ToM page is great source of tracks), even if many do. :)
