Well, it's xx so it's x raised to x'th power. So it's the same x.

Hmm, maybe you need a hint.

The function can be modified with some properties of the exponential function and logarithm:
xx = ex * ln x, where ln is the natural logarithm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_logarithm.

I just don't really understand the question... if you set x to a specific value, then how can the function that only includes x have a "minimum"?

x is not set to specific value, it's still the variable of the function.
