Now :backtt:

Did you know that...

-the 850th F1 Grand Prix is Nico Rosberg's 100th GP and Jenson Button's 200th GP?
-this GP was also the 100th GP of the 2,4 litre V8 engines and Toro Rosso's 100th GP?
-only Mika Häkkinen could win the GP of Hungary twice in a row? (1999 & 2000)

Did you know 2005 seemed to be the best year ever for driving games?

Gran Turismo 4 was released in Europe and North America.
Forza 1 came out.
Need For Speed Most Wanted was released, and many people say it was the best NFS since HP2 until Shift.
F1 05 is claimed to have the best intro of any F1 game, ever.
GTA:San Andreas arrived on to the PC, opening up a brand new window for this game due to mods.
Need For Madness, a free online race 'n' smash Java game was put on the web.
WRC: Rally Evolved, and Colin Mcrae Rally 2005 dominated the Rally section.
NASCAR 2006: Total Team Control is the only NASCAR game to have full team control.
Midnight Club 3: DUB edition was (and to some extent, still is) one of the best ricer tuner games on the market
LA Rush pushed the graphics on the PS2 and Xbox to the limit.
Burnout Revenge was the last true 6th gen Burnout game, due to a rather bland port of Dominator.

As much as I aggree Alex, that is an opinion, not a fact
Hannu, who art in Finland, Räbinä be thy name. Sim racers come, races are won, at Agari, as at Xupong. Give us this day our version 1.06, and forgive us all our impatience, as we race those who challenge against us. Lead us not into boredom, but deliver us from work. For thine is the GeneRally, and the AI, and the race cars. Amen!

Changed a few words so it makes more sense. But yeah, how many times have you seen NFS, GT, FM and GTA games that recieved high ratings released in the same year?

And anyway:
Did you know that in 2010 Bridgestone used old moulds from 1997 to make their slick tyres for F1?
Did you know that not just a driver, but an entire team was disqualified from an F1 season? Tyrrell in 1984 was DSQ'd due to unsecured ballasts that could be thrown off to shed weight.

Did you know that Gerhard Berger scored the first and last wins for Benetton? Mexico 1986 and Germany 1997.

Did you also know that David Coulthard borrowed Michael Schumacher's helmet for Monaco 1996 due to his steaming up? He was allowed to race with it due to Ferrari and Mclaren having the same sponsorship at the time.

And BTW, have you ever noticed this on the Benetton B199? Look at the logo on the sidepod.

Ah, they were clever I see, so when they would be driving in Australia, the logo would be correct!

Also, have any of you noticed the uncensored tobacco logo on the Minolta-Toyota 88C-V in GT5?

It is very unusual that tobacco & alcohol sponsors are uncensored in racing sims, so I didn't know that. :o

And the weird thing is, that sponsor never appeared on a Toyota IRL. It was an NCAA logo. Also, there's a gun manufacturer on one of the cars in GT5 and a Coor's below the Sprint Cup logo. And, on the standard version of the Ferrari F2007, there's an uncensored Martini logo.

Did you also know:
GT5 had to have it's "Piazza del Campo" kart track delayed due to flags of the Contrade being displayed, and the local government wasn't happy?
GTAIV was originally to be released for the PS2?
Rally Driver Michèle Mouton is the only woman to win a major rallying championship (German Rallying Championship), and finished runner-up in the 1982 WRC season? She also founded the RoC.
Ferruccio Lamborghini originally made tractors before he started making cars?
These tractors were made from old WW2 machinery metal?
Pagani may be an Italian car manufacturer, but it's founder, Horacio, is Argentinian?
Out of the 45 highest rated shows of all time, 21 of them are Superbowls?
Valentino Rossi scored 46 wins for Yamaha?

Yeah, majority of the native Finns do have blue (or grey, whatever) eyes, but 90 % ?? Personally wouldn't believe that.
I have quite dark brown :D (while being a native Finn myself)

Ah, those were the times... Even if I didn't know a heck about RSC, I got to download the car(s) somewhere. Must be one of my favourite car(s) of all time. And one the most used.

Also...

Did you know, that Emilio Alzamora won the MotoGP 125 cc world championship in 1999 with winning no races and getting no pole positions?
(Still, the drivers who came 2nd and 3rd won 5 races each that season, haha)

that's american audience stats only though. With world wide, things like the 1966 world cuo final and Princes Diana's funeral knock a few Superbowls out of the list

- Approximately 80,000 components come together to make an F1 car. The cars have to be assembled with cent per cent accuracy. If it were assembled 99.9% correctly, it would go on the track with 80 components wrongly placed.

- An F1 car can accelerate from 0 to 160 kph and decelerate back to 0 in just four seconds.

- British racer Damon Hill is one and only one Formula One racer who have won the F1 championship without leading even in a single lap.

Although the highest one time show audience for many years was the Morecambe and Wise Christmas Special, 26 million from memory? Although someone said that should have been attributed to Mike Yarwood (I'll never do so though, he isn't funny).

EDIT: That's a UK audience record, by the way.

Interesting claim when Hill won 8 races the year he won the championship. ;) Or am I missing the meaning of this sentence, not being a native speaker of English?
