LEGO!
LEGO!
Cant have a off-topic section without it!
Who didnt play with it, or is an AFOL (adult fan of Lego)?
Show your creations!
Click here for my YouTube page, it has several stopmotions (dutch and mostly english).
Here are two other things ive built.
Prototype Cop Car
Built for my new lego series Redwood Stories (maybe gonna be another title).
Oven
A oven, wich is openable.
The ovens mechanism is easy, just a flat tile on a brick, then a shell with some "stoppers" to stop it from getting out. Heres a pic from the inside without the roof so you can see.
I hope you like mine, and dont forget to show your creations!

Re: LEGO!
Welp... My only Lego adventure for the last 10+ years is this: http://rmk.hamk.fi/reload/compot_2011_k ... got_18.jpg a 15 piece working carwash for a lego contest with a 15 piece limit... So yeah, I don't really have any interest to legos..

Re: LEGO!
I've built many of the sets from 2010, including the petrol tanker truck and off-road fire engine. I also have a massive box of lego full of legomen, wheels, regular pieces, electronic train sets and rare pieces that were only made during certain years that I bought last year.

Re: LEGO!
We had a box of legos to pick from, which had the pieces. Both of the sides have two window pieces on top of each other, which gives the system the needed height for a normal Lego car to drive under. Then there's a supporting bar put to the back to keep the walls together. One of the windows was bent so I had to do this...Wouter wrote: Nice! Where did you get the carwash pieces? Then there's the operating system in the front, which uses those rotating thingies for the movement. I was first planning to use those "hoses" as some sort of spring system to make it a bit stiffer and keep the bristles a bit higher, but they didn't really like that kind of movement so I had to put them just as details. I think I counted the bristles and the bar as one item, since there were some other allowments like this, too.

Wasnt' that the LEGO 50th anniversary competition?1nsane wrote:Welp... Re: LEGO!
LEGO is pretty cool... I remember trying to build some of the ships from the game "Wipeout" with LEGO pieces, and failing ^^;

Ah okay. My brother took part in that 50th anniversary competition and came in Top-5. Got a big LEGO package for reward.

Although that 60% for me is searching that piece what I saw ten time when I didn't need it.

Re: LEGO!
thats pretty impressive looking Wouter. The problem with Lego nowadays compared to when i played with it as a child -puts on rose tinted glasses- is that there are too many specialist pieces,
i think it started around the time i was into lego, but now it seems ridiculous (judging by the sets my nephews get). I mean, you get pieces now that you will never find a use for outside of its original purpose, and so some of the creativity aspect seems to be going imo.
Although, XYY, that truck you made is very impressive, to find so many of the right bits like you did

Re: LEGO!
Yes, I have to agree that they have too many of these special pieces these days. They are also quite big pieces, so they can't be used as some details or anything either.
Oh yeah, talking about the contest we had, this is what my friends made (and won with it): http://rmk.hamk.fi/reload/compot_2011_k ... got_11.jpg
That's quite well considering that they too had just those same boxes of legos to pick from...

Re: LEGO!
No, the compo they joined was for 150 pieces max. The truth is, no one counted how many pieces that had. Most likely less than 150, though.Wouter wrote:Cool, but is that 15 pieces?1nsane wrote:Yes, I have to agree that they have too many of these special pieces these days.
