Times that never come back

Post by Thunderstrucker »

What was the best thing you did when was a child?

E.g. Your favorite TV show, favorite toy, etc.

My favorite show when I was a kid was Zoboomafoo, I remember when I was watching along with my cousin, we spent all morning watching it. God how I'd like to live that way again, I was so happy... Nowadays when we are growing up those memories can affect a lot. I admit that I am almost crying right now... :weep:

1. Takeshi's Castle.
2. TrackMania Nations Forever, before FreeZone.
3. Now-defunct TV channels which I used to like.
4. The awesome 90s, the day when music starts to die slowly.
5. And yeah, the day when my PS1 and PS2 is still working. I used to play lots of games with it, including the awesome Gran Turismo series (GT2, GT3, GT4).

Lots of them. Unfortunately that's all I can remember.

Some good websites which are no longer in service now. :weep: :weep: :weep:

And you know, the 'old' DTM. :weep: The new one with only two manufactures DTM is kinda boring for me now so I don't watch every race of the season. :P

The funny thing about the 80's music, is that I keep asking myself "why do I love that decade even if I didn't live it?"

Oh, I almost forgot it. AOL! :o Like RSC, the best times here are also over now, but it was a great website 5-8 years ago. I could play online games and download games here. :D BTW, my parents and I still have got AOL accounts and my dad use AOL 9.0 VR every day ;) - and although it's an outdated version of it, he still use it because it's the latest AOL version in German and it runs properly on Win 7! :D

Any other AOL users here?

Oh god, do you remember the tonnes of CD's they used to send from 2001 up until 2006? What's worse, the free trial of AOL they sent had over a thousand hours of usage, basically meaning you didn't need to purchase it.

Ahh, i used to kick a*s on Jazz Jackrabbit 2.
Ive made some awesome music for the game and also some levels.

But in 2008 i stopped playing it because of some scary music name (yes im silly...) from the game. In 2010 ive started making tracker music again.

Great times, Greeeaat times.

Well, if you look at my avatar, you will have no problem to guess what I am playing lately  Loved the demo around 1999, now finishing the addon.

Same story with Homeworld Cataclysm, I played demo in 2000 and liked it very much, despite it was lagging as hell because my PC didn't meet minimal requirements :P But it worked, and after 11 years I finished the full version. Now I need to play the original one which was added to magazine few years ago, and HW2, which my brother has (and never played, bad present for medieval-RTS player).

The times we had no electronic twinkies, I spent all my days outside doing something with bro and friends :cool2:
Well, I do spend time outside nowadays, but not with my brother and the friends that I had back then...

Awesome game. For some reason i loved the "psych" levels, (thats what the tile set was called in the AWESOME editor) but now im just afraid of those. Thats also the song i was afraid of.

I used to play as Spaz, because he could double-jump, and i think that special ability is better than jazz his one, just rolling like Sonic.

I still remember those dogs walking around in those icey hell levels. Or the stone that rolled after me in the jungle levels. Or what about those levels with pipes? I loved to get speeded in to a pipe and coming out at the other side. And there was this level what was called something with rats or something? It had all this broken stuff everywhere and lab rats. Also remember the castle levels. And ofcourse Carrot Juice :D

Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat times.

I remember my class when I was 5. God how I miss those times when I didn't have to matter about anything. :D
