Marussia will drive on the homerace only with Max Chilton. The 2nd car won't be used by Alexander Rossi or someone else.

Apparently the Russian GP was so boring, that the most exciting story from the race was: "Will Vladimir Putin show up and give the trophy to the race winner?"

The track reminded me on the Valencia Street Circuit.

This is a short video I recommend watching in the wake of Jules' accident.

I was put off by the race even before it even started thanks to the one minute silence for Bianchi, even though he isn't even dead. And then the awkward moment when the drivers had to stand at the front listening to the national anthem while the Russian flag was sneakily shown in the background. Even as this thing is apparently going to be the norm from this point onwards, it was easy to see that it was forced by Russia and it doesn't fit F1. Sure, Nascar can have it's super nationalistic antics of singing the US anthem while they paint the track with american flags or whatever and flying all the jets they can get. It's their national sport so it propably fits their ways. But an international sport like F1... Nah. The players weren't forced to listen to the brazilian anthem before every match this summer.

The track seemed okay, it had some nice corners. It just doesn't have any real passing places because of the fast sweepers where the cars can't follow each other. The original planned design would have had at least one more propable passing place, but oh well. Maybe it's more balanced next year as the tyres should be softer then.

I knew that the Peraltada wouldn't be used, so I'm not surprised, I'm not angry, I just saw it coming. I think other people should have the same reaction, because you should see it coming. F1 would never use the Peraltada again. BTW, the layout looks not bad.

The avoiding of the last corner is not a surprise, but I find it really disappointing that they felt the need to tighten up the first chicane, second chicane and make such drastic changes to the esses...

Overall it's ok. Not using the full last corner is a shame, but it's understandable since there's not enough of runoff there. But why on earth did they have to do that 90 degree corner before hairpin derpyness here too. Haven't we already seen how badly it works in Abu Dhabi? And then they neutered the esses, although who cares about them anyway. They will be just lines on a carpark, so it doesn't matter how big or small they are, people will just drive where ever they want anyway.

What I can say is that finally we get a track that should be easy to remember, unlike stuff like Russia, India, Korea or China where you can't tell which corner is which, or if they are driving on a mainstraight or just one of the five other mile long straights.

I know the facility was rather decrepit, but was there really any need to fiddle around with such a good layout? This boils my urine somewhat, change for the sake of change once again. Proper runoffs was all it needed...

And like mentioned above Sauber barely surviving with no guarantees about next season? Crazy.

Or would it be fine to see only 8 teams but with 3 cars (24 on grid) in 2015?

I'd suspect one of these three will be bought by Zoran Stefanovic, the Stefan GP guy. And then the team will once again disappear after 2 years.

Hmmm... Mr Ecclestone is closer and closer to make F1 without teams... Lovely :)
I'm thinking more and more do lower divisions of open whell racing are more interensting. There's not as much money, and all. There are (mainy) young guys who want to win ;)

Ok, Caterham (since a few days) and Marussia (since today) are insolvent. 3 car teams are now more likely then ever.

2015 there will be only max. 20 cars. If Caterham will close the doors, too, there would be only 18 cars, or ~24 cars with 2 or 3 cars per team (like 3 Mercedes, 3 Red Bull etc.)
