For those who wondered (that would be no one), the plates aren't dead. I brought them back fairly quick smart and now man and car travel most parts of our quite varied countryside (well, WA so far).

So, I did end up getting a new Mazda 3... and this is what happened to it when I lost my concentration for one second on the freeway...

It actually wasn't that hard, the airbags didn't even go off. Not to mention, the car (pickup truck) I hit didn't even stop... maybe he didn't have a license or something...

Insured? The driving standards where I'm at are now at the scary end of things, so I got comprehensive insurance for the first time (it's not compulsory like many other places here).

Yeah, comprehensive isn't compulsory here in our state but I need (also want) comprehensive... I'm annoyed that my comprehensive insurance is costing me more next year so I'm switching insurer from $135 a month to around $100, not sure if that's expensive compared to other countries. Two more years until it drops down significantly.

Anyway, here is a picture of my car with all it's 15" wheels...

Oh boy, what happened to us? We are all middle class now. We used to bum about and patch together wrecks made of rust and cardboard.

Not that I miss the good ol' days, of course. :P

Yup... actually, it's mandatory here to have comprehensive insurance for as long as you're paying off the car. I'll pay $500, the insurance company is paying over $6,500...

I don't miss them either. I miss being a little more careless about my driving but I do like a car that can do 155kph/95mph comfortably on country roads :shhh:

Well yeah, have had a turn at some "spirited" drives too. Happy to cruise and still end the journey with the same amount of parts attached. :)

That was I guess good fortune then, bduddy.

Oh, I want to see a red one. The local bloke seems to insist all of his stock must be silver. Which is why I bought the only non-silver one he had. :P

I enjoy the older style BMWs. The larger the better (70's 2002 excepted!).

Yeah, I like exactly that one too! (maybe because it appeared in Gran Turismo series hehe)

btw. f**k that BMW that i wanted, it was pretty bad. It has some suspensions problems and i would had to spend more money into it. This is much better and cheaper.

A couple weeks ago I went autocrossing for the first time! It was just with my now-repaired Mazda 3, so not particularly fast or difficult, but still really fun! Now I need to find another way to go racing without spending thousands of $'s. For some reason the SCCA has deemed that the lowest class (where my 3 is) should go all the way up to a Fiesta ST, so it wouldn't be very competitive...

Eh, just race for the hell of it. Fiesta ST will only win if the guy driving it is any handy...

Oh, I will! For one thing, the class I did came with a free event entry... but I mean, come on, it's racing! Even if I'm not going to win...
