Looks great actually... Physics seems to be very similar to GR. Though especially great that GR tracks are compatible. Though I suspect that was something you aimed for?

Would be interested to see some specs for car/track making. Will you keep cars similar? Or with more polies/verteces?

Looks a bit too slidy maybe? GR had that nice balance, if cars are sliding all over the place it's harder to drive.

I can notice i've never checked the 'off topic' subforum. Never read about GeneRacing before, but looking at this, including the qualifying and stuff, looks great. I've always wondered about how GR would be if only it had quali.

Had a look at that youtube video (i'm the guy that liked it ;) ). Quite amusing. Where do i actually get the game to test? Requires downloads, or is it only played online?

There is a Discord server for GeneRacing with the discussion about all project.

And the game is available on Steam but it requires a key from Elharter.

Really nice Elharter, and each one of you who's working on GeneRacing ! :goal:

Textures are splendid, and I imagine all those old tracks transformed into hd version, and the new ones we could create in 2048x2048, plus unlimited colors (blue !) !

The cars update are a great step forward too. Some may prefer big round tires like before, but for me it's ok.

In the dark, discreetly but surely, you're making real efforts to make GR2 real to us.

Just for this, a big thank you and keep up the good work ! :bg:

(wasn't there already a topic for GeneRacing updates ? ;) )

I have mixed feelings about unlimited colours. True, it's not reasonable to keep GR's colour limitations, but on the other hand those limitations were what made the game look coherent across various trackmaking styles. Now, theoretically everyone could use very different colours for grass, tarmac etc... Wouldn't it be better to have some predefined textures library (of course extendable, if you build your track in a non-standard "biome" like swamp or savannah you'd really need to have some matching colours)?

And the car physics is still wacky :P
