I've been into Australian music lately - Tame Impala and Pond :). Though it's not metal so maybe most of you won't appreciate :D..

Listening to metal doesn't necessarily rule out the apprection of other genres. ;) This weekend's genres for me include metal, swamp blues, punk and electronic music with a dash of funk. :D

I like Tame Impala too. :) My music taste has lately changed quite dramatically, nowadays I listen to metal barely at all, although right now I'm listening to Dark Tranquillity's brand new album which is pretty good. According to last.fm, "I'm into indie, lo-fi, dream pop, psychedelic and shoegaze" :hippy:

I don't know Tame Impala or Pond, but I hope I can get to a show of The Living end this year when they come to Germany. ;) It also looks like I could get cards for the Australian Pink Floyd which will play next spring in Germany...

@ Dan, neither I'm a metal fan, on opposite that old Death album above was after long time some, which I must say caught my attention deeply. :cool2:

I was bit disappointed by the Tame Impala second album, got bored by it on 3rd listening, there many interesting things in the music, but after first few songs I find there very few surprising things, overall the album falls from psychedelic rock into a ''psychedelic pop'' and somehow ... imagine how much boring Beatles would sound with only Lennon in charge - with no inner constructive opponenture (or how to describe it), it simply lacks something to me.

Funny that you, Ivo, talk about band falling from rock to pop and then talk about Lennon when McCartney was the pop person of the Beatles. ;)

The explanation of one my feeling by the Beatles example is a separate 'issue', which I feel, I wasn't explaining by it the note about IMHO lack of rock (I would have the feeling even if it would be a rock as pure as glass in the window). But yeah, if you joined it together, it may sound funny. ;) I didn't find a way, how to write it clearer. :)

Slow Emotion Replay is just pure musical beauty
Dark Angel is a dance song, very catchy chorus too :D
Make it happen is a perfect mix of Rock and electronic music IMO, the ending is brilliant :yummy:

When I was younger I listened to Slipknot-like bands. But now I'm closer to 30 and have wife so my tastes changed drastically :) :

I know, that's why I though that :shhh:, unfortunately I'm not interested in these 'ages of religious freaks'. I'm rather (still) waiting for Europa Barbarorum II. :yummy:

But now ....
