Luckily we get all the events live and for free with no ads on internet. :P Right now I'm watching the combined alpine skiing while also having the short track speed skating events on a smaller screen. :)

Finland also got the first medal yesterday, as Rukajärvi was second in slopestyle. She should have propably even been first, as the winner did a same trick twice and touched the ground on final landing. But hey, that's what you get from sport that relies only on judge points. :) And the winner did have cooler tricks on the large jumps.

The luge event was pretty interesting too, although unfortunately the winner was already clear after the second round and top three was complete in third round. The top managed to get some serious speeds, going over 140 kph to the final corner. Max speed was supposed to be about 135. :D

The Netherlanders are destroying their competition so far in Speed Skating. Magnificent runs!! I was very sad when I saw Mayer ending up as the winner of the downhill race. Conditions were better for smaller numbers I guess because they were all faster then top tier skiiers. I watched Ski jumping yesterday and Kamil Stoch dominated. Well done for him and Bardal and Prevc. I was hoping to see Amman's good display but it didn't happen and also to see Kasai flying to the podium but it also didn't happen.

I'm pretty much upset with the fact that the IOC rebukes the recent use of black armbands by Norwegian athletes, due to Astrid Jacobsen's tragic loss. It is understandable any form of propaganda, expression of opinion and political messages is banned in the Olympics, but the IOC should show both respect and sympathy to the Norwegian team.

I just can't belive there is no winter pentathlon. It'd be quite awesome to have biathlon (cross country and shooting), ski jumps, luge and slalom :D. I think it is necessity for next olympics :goodvibes: .

It will never happen because those are very different sports and very dangerous. It would be hard to be competitor in luge, alpine skiing and ski jumping. Very big differences! In athletics there aren't very big differences between sports and everyone can compete in them.

How does this sound? Speed skating (long track), moguls, figure skating (a short program), then finish with a biathlon, similar to the current modern pentathlon rules? (Even though I don't like them when applied to modern pentathlon, but the biathlon is already a thing)

For sure the sportsman would not perform as well as specialists for each discipline but that's what would be important, versatility :).

I am also very happy for Noriaki Kasai. I stopped following ski jumping about 2008-9, i remembered his name, but I though he might not be jumping anymore, as he was one of the older jumpers. Lately I read, that he is going to olympics. "Nice, it's always cool to see old faces still being around" I though. And he gets silver, his first individual medal.

First I'll take a look on Russia-USA match. Russians dominated. They played very interesting hockey, fast, disciplined, and very tough to defend. Americans tried to make something but they couldn't do a lot 5 vs. 5. Datsyuk with amazing shots and Malkin with his crosses destroyed American defense. Radulov helped Americans so much with those fouls and they used it. I must say that RUSSIANS should've won the game because Tutin scored a goal from the blue line which American judge denied. Shootouts were one man show with T.J. Oshie scoring 4/6 I think. Amazing skill! America should thank him and only him for this win.

I couldn't watch ski jumping but I watched highlights. Noriaki Kasai is miracle!!! Unbeliveable!!! Congrats to Stoch and Prevc but Kasai desrves all honors.
