GeneRally Poetry 2: Electric Boogaloo

Post by Doorslammer »

That's right folks, an epic return for one of GeneRally's more creative threads involving words and not much else.

As everyone knows, I was a big fan of having GeneRally in various little stories with different themes to make them interesting in unique ways. Unfortunately, all the original works of Genesworth and Genespeare were wiped out along with the rest of the content and reputation of RSC, so it's a fresh start (again).

:hiya:

My first work I now present to you is a piece entitled:

The Tales and Woe of the Soft Wall

"Oh why do I have to be red?" said the wall
Who in it's lonely state had a lot of gall
To question it's lot and ponder the mystery
"Why am I not as popular as a Large Tree?"

All of a sudden a pitman appeared
"I bet he'll comment on my colour" the wall feared
"Just what I want, a racist pitman."
The wall wondered if he would ever find a fan.

But the pitman enquired in the most polite way
And enquired if the wall was having a good day
To which the soft wall replied
That it most certainly wasn't, not that he tried

The pitman nodded in contemplative silence
For he knew the soft wall was no Wooden Fence
The pitman knew what to say to make it smile
He said it's best to be unique, with much guile

That did cheer up the soft wall no end
No matter the straight or even the bend
The soft wall had a use, no matter the colour
Life was now certainly no duller

And so ends my tale
Of how a soft wall no longer felt like a fail
For it said no matter how it got treat
That at least it's not concrete...

I was kind of bored today, so I decided to write a short poem (as short as it is it still took me a fat hour or so to finish it!). I'm sorry if it's not as funny or refined as Doorslammers, but in my defence, I'm not a native speaker. :sweatdrop: Also a hint to all of you who know what acrostic is. :shhh: So here it is, enjoy:

Layout Editing Sublime™

Got it from my younger bro
Elusive as the title seemed
Nothing I expected, though
Even more than I had dreamed!

Rich with joy for first few days
Arid it became with time, 'till
Lastly I found hidden ways of
Layout editing sublime.

Yes, it ought to have another rhyme.
