NOTE: The Formula Ciclismo series are compos from a different kind. Here only AI controlled cars race - much like management compo. It might evolve into full managment or racer compo, but for now it'll follow the patern of a storyline.

Introduction/FAQ
Q: What's GR Tour de France?
A: The GR TdF is a series of chained events using the cars from my Formula Ciclismo pack. This series will not be the compos as you used to know. This is rather a storyline.

Q: What is the special in this compo?
A: These series will be with AI cars only. All 22 original teams who participated in the real TdF will have their own team in GR TdF. Each team will have 1 car. All 22 teams will have 100 AI setting to ensure that no team will take advantage and will be more fun.

How long will be the calendar?
A: The real 2014 TdF consists of 21 stages across France and UK. My plan is for 21 stages in France only, but I may consider the start will be in UK. On one track can be possible to hold more than 1 stage if there are multiple layouts. The full GR TdF calendar will be published later in the evening or tomorow.

Q: What will be the classifications?
A: The GR TdF will have the 4 jerseys presented in the RL TdF. Here are they.
- the team, who has the fastest overall time will have the yellow car.
- the team, who scores the most points will have the green car.
- the team who has the most points from Fastest laps will have the red car.
- the team who has the least number of the combined positions will earn the white car. If you aren't familiar with the procedure I'll explain it here.

Team A: Y-P1, G-P1, R-P2 => W-4
Team B: Y-P2 G-P2, R-P1 => W-5

Q: There are 22 teams in real life, but GR allows only 6 cars in each race. How will you manage to do mass starts?
A: For this I'll have the heat system. It'll be based around the Overall rankings and will feature 2 heats from 6 cars and 2 from 5 cars. Here is the procedure:
Heat 1 - 1, 5, 9, 13, 17, 21
Heat 2 - 2, 6, 10, 14, 18, 22
Heat 3 - 3, 7, 11, 15, 19
Heat 4 - 4, 8, 12, 16, 20

The first stage will be held in alphabetical order of the team 3 letter code.

Q: What will be the pointscoring system?
A: The races will be divided in three categories - Short (10 GR km), Medium (20 GR km), Large (30 GR km). The points will be the following:
Short - 6-5-4-3-2-1
Medium - 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1
Large - 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1

The Time trails will be added half the points for the green car and double the points for the red car.

L - 30 km race
M - 20 km race
S - 10 km race

There are 18 mass start races with each length has 6 and 3 Time Trails.

I've decided that the races will be with change milage:
Short remain 10 km
Medium - 20 km
Long - 30 km

The pointscoring system for Short races will be 6-5-4-3-2-1 instead of 10-6-4-3-2-1

Maybe yes - I wanted to bring something new to the GR community and I came up with this. It's not the usual compo, but a storyline type compo where everything has been done by the AI.

Now this could evolve into GR racers compo, but considering that the interest is low recently and only 6-7 may enter with some may miss a race or two, this concept may not be as effective as it should.

I know that the GR community isn't really fond with this type of projects and I can suspend the release of this type of home-projects if they aren't that popular.

All I want is to showcase for what purpouse can be used my Formula Ciclismo and Formula Futbol lines - a unique type of compos, which are base on other real life sports other than motorsport.

BTW for those interested - for Stage 3, which was the first TT, took me 2 hours to set all cars, make the savegames(22 instead of 4), export the data, put it in Excel spreadsheat(don't know who to adjust the mm:ss.0 format at Google Drive), calsculate the points and so on. And that's no easy job. I have some free time.

Well, normal competition takes about almost same amount of time

I feel like maybe this should be in a different section of the forum, rather than tt compos section since people expect to be able to participate in some way in compos
