''Apache is not running'' problem

Post by Cristiano Bohessef »

MoWeS opened for me, but when I click to Launch Gran Turismo GR appears like 'Page cannot be found'

At MoWeS, I see 'Apache is not running...' and 'My SQL is running...'. Is that normal or Apache should be running?

Works well on my side. Yes, both Apache and SQL should be on running status.

i try to start the web service, and apache doesn't run.
MySQL works fine, but apache doesnt.
So when i start the game, i see 2 seconds of the loading screen then it goes white and freezes.
Help?

EDIT: Fixed, try rebooting your computer, and shutting down your firewall completely.

Well, problem solved :). I've found this page: http://www.moweshelp.chsoftware.net/ (Troubleshooting -> Apache). In my case, I just had to exit Skype :P.

OK, you added the picture, you can see, that in fact your local server is NOT running. ;)

Closing Skype indeed solved my issue, however the Appache-starting program is refusing to disappear, and obviously if I exit it, it kills Apache.

Luke, you need to have the server running = the apache must run all the time you want to play GTGR, so guess the skype must be off all the time.

I know, that's not my issue, I've got no issue with playing GTGR now ;) The issue is that the application that starts Apache stays open in a window all the time.

No, it's not, it should, at least in theory, close as it's simply a loader - the MySQL or whatever the other one is DOES close. ;)

It IS nessesary. Apache is 'rendering' files, MySQL is the database connection.

A problem lots of people had.

I think this problem has also been explained by other people, but in my case, Apache and MySQL are BOTH ON 'RUNNING' STATUS.
But I still have a white screen in GTGR window...

Something is wrong with Apache then as it is not loading anything. Try http://localhost/game.php in your webbrowser. If that doesn't load there is an issue with Apache.

Then something is wrong with Apache. It might be running, maybe the firewall is blocking its connection.

I have no firewall. (deactivated). Also, I had to change the port from 80 to 8080, because before that, Apache was on 'NOT RUNNING'.
But still not working.

If you disable your firewall and change it back to port 80, what happens?

Then its being blocked by something. Maybe you need to alter the port number somewhere else to use that, have no clue where tho.

maybe THIS #Listen 12.34.56.78:80 ?

Edit: no. it isn't.

Edit 2: can it be blocked by another web-based app, like uTorrent?
