if this is in the wrong section, don't shoot me!

Hardly a surprise for most of you (those who've been looking at GR Italia..). I have started working on this somewhere in 2003 and 2004, and the first version was released as a standalone car pack back on the good ol' RSC.

However, I've always wanted to turn it into a Gran Turismo game. Even though (for valid reasons) i've been unable to show the progress of it on RSC, i've always more or less kept working on it. On and off, that is. Worked on it for a couple of weeks, came up with a lot of stuff, and semi-cancelled it due to a lack of time. But, everytime it did improve. As i've learnt more and more of building websites, I finally have the knowledge to do what has always been in my mind.

So I present you: Gran Turismo GR.

Based upon the game with the same name, GTGR is an add-on for GeneRally. Each player starts with 10,000 Credits, and work their way up on the ladder by winning races, earning cars and passing licenses to unlock new events.

Features:

GAME
700+ vehicles
20+ locations

GRAN TURISMO MODE
License Tests
400+ events
New car showroom
Rotating used car lot
Events unlocked by amount of licenses
Web user interface
Rotating prize cars
Car physics system based upon age, drivetrain and purpose
Car tunability

Current release date is March 31 2010, but that might easily become summer if I do not have enough time.
In total it took so long, that I may as well take enough time to create a decent add-on

Both. The web-interface runs on the players machine in Mozilla Prism.

This sounds very cool, I stopped playing Gran Turismo after pt. 2 but maybe this add-on could change the situation.

:wow:

(But why did you post the 2nd screenshot twice?) :?

Just to let you know, progress is made, surely but slowely, but Windows 7 is acting a little bit retarded with GR so it'll take some time before I'm able post a new screen.

As much as I hate to burst your bubble, it is far from finished. Expect it somewhere around Q3 2010.

Progress is made, but not in the way I would have suspected (or hoped) as I am rather busy with school and other stuff.

Web interface is progressing steadily, and works the way I have thought it should work. Physics of the cars are progressing good, altough I might go a bit more in-depth.

And for tracks, I am really looking for someone to make the layouts within SnakeDitor (as I really can't figure out how it works) so I can start making the tracks.

For a releasedate, I wouldn't know actually. Q4 2010 would be a far more realistic date, with an alpha version (albeit in a small group) somewhere in may/june.
