Hey guys! Want that perfect engine noise for a 1978 Brabham or 1955 Lancia? Want to make F1 races in :gr: seem more realistic? Then look no further than Alex's Formula 1 sound pack! Sounds included:
Generic modern F1 sound 1
Generic modern F1 sound 2
Generic modern F1 sound 3
Late 1980's Honda V6 RA168E
1977 Mclaren M23 - possibly my best sound.
1978 Renault RS01
Renault RE40
Tyrell 008 - good but too quiet.
1986/7 Turbo Ferrari
1960's Ferrari 312
1995 Ferrari 412T2
Lancia D50 (1)
Lancia D50 (2)
1986 Lotus 98 - the first sound i made and it is pretty bad. :(
Brabham BT44 - an ok noise but sounds like a van
1950's BRM V16
1950's Mercedes

Here are the youtube videos i got the sounds from:

More sounds will come at a later date
Have fun!
Oh, yeah, i forgot to say that you edit the pitch however you want because i designed the sounds for planet-generally.de's F1 1950-2009 pack and Jerrec's F1 history pack. EDIT: it's in three .zips because php.ini says it won't let me upload anything greater than 2mb

@ Alex: wait at least 24 hours with asking feedback, we're international forum with users in many timezones. And if somebody downloaded it already, it doesn't mean, that he tested it immediately. ;)

Having gear changes would've been nice but the ones i've tested so far are alright - very in depth btw

Thank you Jwong :bg: I didn't include gear changes because (a) some of the YT videos only showed idling or staying in 1st gear (b) it wouldn't be very realistic to hear your car gear change 1000 times whilst maintaining top speed and (c) it wouldn't sound right if you heard your car gear change upwards when you stop or are slowing down. So IMHO i think it is better to have a gearless looping engine noise than it is to have a geared sound. Just my :2c:

Yep, I prefer sounds without gear changing. I hope I'll have some time to test those tomorrow

:iagree:

Absolutely right. Geared ones sound very... ehm, how can I say, "stupid" (no offense intended for anybody who makes them :bsmile: ) in games like this, and in other games (that have gears, like TrackMania or Carmageddon as an example, because I have experience in those ones) it's not needed to have them in the engine sound, it's pretty useless... And it sounds even more strange :D

Sorry for abandoning the thread guys. Just to let you know i am making more sounds but they're a lot more difficult now because the website i get the .mp3s from have come out of beta stage and the website is a lot more laggy now. The sounds will come in a big project of mine. No information about this project will be disclosed yet because it's too early in development stage. But you can probably guess what it's about without telling you.
