GeneRally Lite?

Post by Haruna »

Hi all,

It's an idea taken from rFactor. Instead of the regular game, which ships will all original cars and tracks, a "lite" version of GR would come with no cars or tracks installed. Could be useful for those who want to make competition packs or game mods.

Cheers
Haruna.

It's totally needed because I don't want to have to go through frustration of deleting the tracks and cars. Sure, it takes all of a minute to delete them, but I prefer a more, err, streamlined process.

Well... In terms of disk space, a GR lite is useless, since the whole game (with default cars and tracks) doesn't take more than 1,5 mb

However, in terms of modding, or even for setting up compos, it is always nice to have an empty GR copy somewhere in our HDD. But this can be done in two minutes.

I would say even in 30 secs. Extract generally105.zip, delete cars.car, player.drv and two folders in tracks. Voila ''clean GR''.

So for me even as person organizing compos sometimes it's useless idea.

In fact, just delete everything but: GR.exe, font.BMP, gr.pal, Tracks Folder... This actually is the minimum for running the game :) Everything missing will be created automatically such as Options.set and General.car
