Re: ToM discussions thread
I got one small idea about ToY results - there are very often big ties because of not much votes for lot of tracks in one poll - sometimes more than 5 tracks share same position. What would you think, if we'd sort the tied tracks in order of their received ToM votes in monthly election since 2011? And only if two or more tracks would receive same number of ToY votes and same number of ToM votes, they would share same place. Is it enough fair? What do you think, please?

Re: ToM discussions thread
Ivo, this system may work but it should be improved. I explain.
Track A and Track B has got the same number of votes in ToY election. Track A has got 3 votes in ToM June and Track B - 4 votes in ToM April.According to your idea Track B should be higher in ToY. But in ToM June there were 21 voters so Track A has got 14% of possible votes and in ToM April - 32 voters so Track B has got only 12%. So why in this case Track B should be higher?
The easiest solution in avoiding big ties in ToY should be higher number of voters.

Re: ToM discussions thread
That's why asked if it'd be fair ''enough'', based on fact, that number of voters is approx. same each month wit few exemptions, so the number of similar cases wouldn't be high. But f course you're right, precisely about these % I was thinking too, but didn't propose it with fear, that it would be too complex to be clear in results. It would be surely more fair, but maybe it would work too.Buka wrote:Track A and Track B has got the same number of votes in ToY election. I don't think so, if there is about 200 tracks in one poll and we have 5 votes, the increase on about 30 would help, but not much.Buka wrote:The easiest solution in avoiding big ties in ToY should be higher number of voters.

Re: ToM discussions thread
Nice idea.
IMO ordering by the number of ToM-votes in % ist the fairest method. Also, technically it's no problem to realize.

Well, if it was released in GMT at that time, then it is correct.

That rule is quite strange anyway - what's the difference between 0:00 and 24:00?

Moved.
Should it be ''since 00:00:01 to 24:00:00''?
Should it be ''since 00:00:01 to 24:00:00''?

Re: ToM discussions thread
Yeah, that would make sense. Especially as, currently, you could technically nominate a track for two elections.
Re: ToM discussions thread
The 00:00 means zero hours, zero minutes, which is acceptable, as it actually is a valid time form (says nothing about seconds).
My math is really rusty at this point, but the way I picture it: if we take one day as a "closed interval" from (00:00-24:00), then it makes perfect sence (I don't know how to properly translate that, it means that 00:00 and 24:00 are not actually a part of the interval). 00:00 and 24:00 are those "points" in time, that cannot be properly measured, as they exist only in theory.
They can be, however, percieved as very close approximations of 00:00:00,0000001 and 23:59:59,9999999999 for instance, so it's really not wrong if it stays that way.

Re: ToM discussions thread
24:00 as a time of day does not exist. Midnight is 00:00
Hannu, who art in Finland, Räbinä be thy name. Sim racers come, races are won, at Agari, as at Xupong. Give us this day our version 1.06, and forgive us all our impatience, as we race those who challenge against us. Lead us not into boredom, but deliver us from work. For thine is the GeneRally, and the AI, and the race cars. Amen!

You could nominate me if there was a heading "showroom of month"
Re: ToM discussions thread
It is a .trk file posted to Tracks subforum, hence it is a track, and surely deserves a nomination being such innovative track.Glen wrote:Herbal, my Hmap Garage isn't a track, just a showroom
