why is nomination time and no voting anymore?

it's simple: for December tracks is nomination time (they can be nominated now). For Novermber it's now same, because it's election haven't been started, so we still can nominate the November tracks. When election will start, will be just nomination time for December tracks and voting time for November tracks :)

BTW next time don't ask in nomination topic, but in discussion topic, please.

Ruix by Jonzu95. I love the immense detail in it, especially the crashed car.
I think you totally didnt play it, did you? Im sure that was just an AI racing.

Did Jonzu asked you to nominate it?

That's not really relevant to why a track was nominated, I don't think.

IMHO it's still a bit questionable to nominate a track without testing it at all, which was Wouter's point.

I meant the pieces and tyre treads that were on the track. Sorry for not being clear. I have tested it and it is pretty drivable and stuff.

In that case I apologize for jumping into the conclusion. :sorry:

Suggestion/Idea I had recently

And I quote :shhh:

''Following a huge hype surrounding ''TE-Only'' or ''Almost-TE-Only'' tracks, the present would suggest that these tracks obtain a special category in the ToM voting.''
Why?

I'd say they are in another class, and cannot be compared to a ''Complete toolbox used'' track, since of course a track done with all available tools will have more quality into it, but a track done only on track editor can look great, but it asks for a much greater effort!

The issue is : Will there always be TE-Only tracks at each month..? If this ''category'' is applied, maybe... but I'm posting this for ideas, suggestions and of course opinions, I'm not forcing anyone to reform an entire system without having the agreement of the majority of this community! :)

As said, this isn't a referendum or a political vote, whether it's yes or no for this idea, I just want your opinions and thoughts about it!

Well, I'm afraid even with this category there won't be enough tracks to have real choice. Moreover we can't really check if the track was made with TE only, or just someone did it in Paint but made the track look like made solely in TE. There could be special voting in ToY, but we don't have any special categories there, and we would need to keep track (pun intended) of all of them released during whole year. Well, what other of you think?

I would like to suggest a change to the nomination process. Maybe it could be done based on downloads with tracks being downloaded a certain amount of times being automatically nominated.

Just an idea

Well, it could be easy to trick the download counter (I'm not saying that now it's hard to get your friend to nominate your track). Also tracks posted in the beginning of month would have more downloads than those released in the last days of it, so I'm afraid that's not the best solution.

is there going to be a TOY 2010?

Yes, but I think, that a bit later, when the latest (November, December '10) tracks will bit settle in our minds. Otherwise they could be in an advantage against earlier tracks.

just a small thing; on the website, would it be possible to make the dates smaller on the news feed? Being highlighted, they overpower the news title and it quite confusing when i was referring to it whilst updating the gtracks. :2c:

BBA, I've updated the site. Thanks for this suggestion, IMO it looks better now.
S. Manzur wrote:And also show the track posting date.
What do you mean? If you want to know the exact publishing date of a track, you just need to follow its link to the forum.
S. Manzur wrote:PS: When starts ToM Compo?
I do not know of any planned ToM compo.

For now I put the still unused PoY 2011 nomination thread into Links to some important, but non-sticky topics. I think, that it's enough, especially with current number of stickies. But it can be always done back. What do you think? :)

Another thing: What about a link on the page to the nominations/voting/results thread?

Hey, i have a problem.
I unninstalled my Orbit Downloader and now I can't download things from ToM site, appears "Download transfered to Orbit". Which would be a problem on login compos. Someone knows the solution?
Solved
New question: On September 2006, Donington by Black Rebel received 2 votes and aren't in pack. Why?

This not ToM's problem but of your PC configuration. Ask on orbit forum or their support. :really:

On that time 3 voted were needed for a track to be included into pack, AFAIR.
