[cir] Sunset Avenue

Post by DiMarzio »

Hi everyone!

I used to play this game when I was much younger, but now I have found this wonderful game again, and started to make some tracks too. Shame I don't have any those legendary tracks I and my friends made back in the days :(. But anyone here's some new material.
I made this track one afternoon while listening to Whitesnake . It turned out pretty good, but it could have been much better, though. I'm still trying to get used to track making again after all these years. Anyway, it didn't take too long to make. It has very big height differences and some twisty turns.

Every comment is more than welcome suggestions, pros, cons, anything... :)

Very nice old-skool look with great driveability

Shame the track uses the square border on the layout, really breaks the 'spirit' of this track :shake3:

Still... it does have that old-skool feel, and does make some interesting racing

Would it look better if you used a normal rotation and zoom?
And the story was whatever was the song what it was

Great looking track, and it drives well too.

I like the fact that the 'short cut' before the last corner doesn't count towards a completed lap... not that I tried taking a shortcut of course

I'm not sure what influence Whitesnake had on the track, but I think it helped :bg:

Thanks for the comments so far! :)

That's a good point! I think I could add a fence or something. Maybe I fix and update the track one day. (Or did I understand your point..?)

Yes, I know the current zoom doesn't look good, but I had to make a compromise, because I want that the cliff can be seen. But when I tried different views, the trees and/or bushes were obscuring the very last curve, so it was too difficult to drive, so I ended up in this one :/

Thanks, I think I then reached one of my goals: to do something uncommon, because I think the tracks are usually too similar :|. And I'm glad that you liked it too :)

And I'm not sure either what influence WS had :D
