There have been plenty of ToMs which have been micro tracks, and without a doubt some of them have been wonderful. Taking dotsy into consideration for instance.
But that tack was wonderful for many different reasons, it was unique at the time of being released, everything on the track worked together...everything was where it should have been. And without a doubt the easy nature of the track made it more fun than many other tracks at the time. Also the name was just so cute
But if we take you track into this instance, it's a very nice track, and I agree with others, your best.
But, asking for a ToM nomination doesn't help.
The track compared to other micro tracks... micro tracks that have been nominated, isn't exactly up to par. The dirt version for instance looks messy. The dithering is good, but over the top of the tarmac just undoes everything you put into the actual texture of it. But concentrating on the tarmac version:
Positives: The Hmap is fun.
The layout is simple enough to be fun.
Some object placement, like the booth/fence combo behind the pits is very good.
Negatives: Personally, I find the AI good, until driving past the pits, where they generally go wide and hit the pitmen.
The sand textures, I find are dull. The sand trap with the haybales on just looks ugly, and the 'field' with the bushes in doesn't really help your cause.
And I also don't really like the 'mound' with the tree on it in the middle. I understand it's always difficult to know what to put in places like that, but I just think it could have been better suited as a lake, whilst the mound could be taken somewhere else.
I'm not saying it's not ToM worthy, I'm just simply stating why
I don't think it would be, maybe if it was released 2 or so years ago then it would be a different story, but when the times change, and more unique and... better looking fullscreen... or micro tracks are released... it just takes something a little more special for
me to nominate it
But you're clearly improving and I look forward to your next venture in the fullscreen category
