V1.10> only

Hello everybody!

This is my first proper new track for... 4 months
Anyway I have had a go, for some reason they've given us half term for the first time in three years, so ive had some time spare!
I hope you like what I produced. Two versions, 1976 and 1977!

All comments welcome as ever!

Hope you enjoy, BBA!

I liked the track perfectly! 5/5
But you can put some invisible walls(if it has, sorry, i don't see it  ) like modern track.
OFF: 666th post? RUN TO THE HILLS!

i'll be honest, i dont get the invisible wall thing, i dont think i have ever thought i would need such a thing in the past. But you never know, maybe someday i find a use. Thanks for the comment.

If you make lmap art it's very useful. And also for situations where you want to stop drivers from going to a certain place on the track, over the cliff for instance.

The track looks very good btw.

Wow, the person really looks great when used like this. You've made a great use of the armco barriers as well. Overall it looks really great. The only thing what I don't like are the colorful kerbs.

I drove it with the Formula, and for that car the straights were too long. But I'm sure it drives amazingly with faster cars. The hmap is glorious, especially I like the downhill.

BBA, may we wish an evolution trackpack of Österreichring - A1-Ring - Red-Bull-Ring? A1-Ring wouldn't cause much problem IMO, although Red-Bull-Ring's layouts are still not clear. Should we wait until DTM race to find out more from that one?

Anyway superb job, as expected from you.

The track looks definitely excellent, one of my very favourite tracks ever in real life. Although I think the first shicane could be some tighter. Must test this soon!

I think it could be useful on ovals, as with a fast car, you can easily get it over the wall.

Anyway, it looks like a great track.

isn't the part of fun? to fly over walling, when something very bad happened? or fall from cliff or to marina in Monaco? I would like to see very restrictive application of the object in trackmaking practice, just where is really needed to prevent the breaking of something (like driving over lmap objects). Otherwise it's imho just stealing the freedom of player and killing the ''realism in simplicity'', which is one of key miracles of GR :gr: .

BTW after 2 weeks on the track:
Ai line could be slightly faster, then I would love to see ''die-hard'' version with sunk tyres more in kerbs. :D

hmm, thanks for that Ivo, I find the faster a track is the harder it is to make a decent ai line. ai for ovals is a good example of this. i shall have a revisit when i have to update it for 1.10b ;)

Nice track! I like the hmap (there are a lot of height changes in reallife too)

You have really improved a lot, because I only remember you from your first tracks on RSC :P Funny to see!

The track drives great, especially the 76 version! But I think the AI line in the first shicane of the 77 version needs some work. Of course it deppends of the car, but many of my cars tend to go out in there when driven by AI.

Pros:

+ The legendary circuit adapted greatly into GR
+ Drives surprisingly well, as it's an rwl track and big ws
+ Looks realistic, but still doesn't lack the 'GR-ish' feel
+ The overall feel is fantastic when driving
+ Proves me that rwl tracks can be awesome both graphics and racing-wise

Cons:

- The AI line in the 77 version, mainly the first shicane; not too good with the cars I tested
- Nothing more really...

Overall, nearly a perfect rwl track to me, and I mostly don't even like them.
The Krisu constructive criticism gives this track a very well achieved 4.5/5 :D

(So if the AI line issue would be fixed, then a 5 star rating won't be far away... :))

Edit: BBA, have you got my PM?
