Re: A slighty different Joint Effort

:wow: In only about 4,5 hours all the places have been taken up! That's just great. The list of participants for the first Joint Effort Tree is:
maxi17, AleksiNir, Dan Hakulín, Martyn, XYY, OlafK, Cristiano Bohessef, Mr.J, ACM, Areen, preetzertrain, Alonsomania, Alex and Michkov.

Now if anyone else wants to participate as a FTer for all the 8 tracks, I'll permit it, but only if the person in question is skilled enough to be able to live up to it, e.g. has won a ToM and/or is a trackmaster.

On the off side you guys caught me off guard here, as I was sure I'll have at least a day or two before the project would start, so I didn't prepare the square yet. If there is anyone who would like to post the first square instead of me may do so, BUT under the same conditions as for the FT! :!: If anyone volunteers, just say so here and then I'll decide if you can post the first square.

Oh well, this project seems so nice, that I could awake from my trackmaking sleep. As I'm late, would it be possible to make reserve-list?

Actually, if you like, I'm willing to give you the first square or FTs. ;) But if you prefer to be the backup you can be too.

I'll go for backup. I won't be stealing your spot ;) Besides I don't like to start, nor to make 8 FT's.

Don't worry. At the time the first square will be posted (only the picture, not the file), I'll personally send the track to 2 participants, who will then start working on their squares. When finished, the files must be sent to me and I will forward them on. After the first square no more pictures will be posted to ensure every square is their author's work. :geek:

Paw, you're on the reserves list then. :bg:

Would we know what the order is before release?
Hannu, who art in Finland, Räbinä be thy name. Sim racers come, races are won, at Agari, as at Xupong. Give us this day our version 1.06, and forgive us all our impatience, as we race those who challenge against us. Lead us not into boredom, but deliver us from work. For thine is the GeneRally, and the AI, and the race cars. Amen!

What about everyone choose your favorite tier*?
*Tier - The same term was usen on THDJ, means "bracket".

Good question, Martyn, I've been thinking about that.

You'll definitely know in which "stage" of production you are, either 1st (the starting square), 2nd, 3rd or 4th, but the question is if I should publish the scheme or should I inform each trackmaker via PM? For anything more precise it's hard to estimate the time, as each trackmaker needs some time to finish, some more and some less.

One other thing is, should I set a time limit for squares and then forward the tracks in intervals, or simply forward them as soon as the previous trackmaker finishes?
And is 3 days per square enough time? I know, in Joint Effort you are entitled to 7 days time for your square, but honestly, a couple of hours in total is enough for one square, so with more than 3 days you're just wasting time IMO. :|

That is not the best option IMO, as there are too many parts to coordinate and it would only create a mess. I have already assigned each person to his position in a way I deem best. :shhh:

Maybe post what stage people are at, but not who they are following?

Ok then, here is the list by stages, in no special order:

stage1: egamad
stage2: ACM, XYY
stage3: Michkov, Dan Hakulín, Martyn, Cristiano Bohessef
stage4: Mr.J, Areen, Alex, preetzertrain, AleksiNir, OlafK, maxi17, Alonsomania

The stages are not interchangable, so if you feel you won't be able to make your square, let me know, we have some reserves to take your place.
I'll post the starting square soon and the project can begin. :goodvibes:

+-3 days should be enough. I hope this will end in really good tracks with quality :D.

BTW what WS will we use? I´d prefer some bigger one because I do want some place for my creativity :)

I'd say max. 200, in a 4x4 square you have a lot more space than in the traditional 9x9 :) and as most of you know, big WS is baaaad. (IMO)

@egamad: was there some kind of a logic at giving certain stages to certain people? I would have preferred to not be on the last one, but it's not a big deal.

@Aleksi: Yes, there is a certain logic to this setup, which maybe isn't yet clear, but you'll know at the end. ;)

The first square is done. Like Aleksi said, with 2x2 (not 4x4 :P ) you have a lot more space for yourself than with 3x3, so the WS I chose is 180. I don't know what else to say, but to be ready according to the list of participants I posted (take into account that the person before you has max 3 days!).

To sum it up, I'm sending the file to 2 people, so they can start working. When they are finished, they send the files back to me and I forward them on. DON'T post anything on the forum, either any screenshots or files themselves. I hope everything is clear and happy trackmaking!

stage1: egamad
stage2: ACM, XYY
stage3: Michkov, Dan Hakulín, Martyn, Cristiano Bohessef
stage4: Mr.J, Areen, Alex, preetzertrain, AleksiNir, OlafK, maxi17, Alonsomania
Reserves: Paw, S. Manzur, Bouncebackability, Speedy47

Unfortunately, BBA, all the available places have been taken for this project, but you're more than welcome to stay in reserve if you wish.

Also I have a feeling that this isn't going to be the only JET project, so I'll automatically list the reserves as the participants on the next one, if that's ok by everyone.
