Well, I was thinking of giving all tracks random ladies names, but your idea isn't bad. But the same first letters of participants are indeed a problem. 3 letters per name could be a solution (3x4=12, which is the max number of characters GR supports IIRC). Or does anyone have another idea?

In the meantime could everyone in stage 4, who hasn't yet done so, PM me with their email address please? ;)

The problem is though, what happens if you have the same combination of people taking part in another track, if you plan to keep using this naming formula in the future. You wouldn't be able to use the same name.

or just another idea which is not quite as nice as the one with the names but it will work even for all the following JETs in the future:

We think of a fictional name of max. 10 characters, then a blank and then we count from 1-8 or from A-H (because all the eight tracks belong together, they only have one different letter/number)

That's a cute idea.
Plenty of them, so why not? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tree_genera

Most genera don't have enough names to let all the tracks belong to the same genus though.

I also like there being a 'unifying factor' in the name that shows that all tracks are related to each other. I guess Preetzertrain's idea, or a similar mathematical formula, would work best for that.

What does FTing include? May I replace walls, objects, kerbs, tweaking layout etc?

What if we choose a theme for each trackpack and choose names from that theme, so this pack can have let's say tree names, the next one maybe flower/bird/car/river/whatever names? This way all tracks from the same pack would be easily recognisable. :cool2:

@Alonsomania: as the FTer you decide what needs to be fixed. That means that all and every change you make you should consider carefully as it's your responsibility what you change and how you change it (you should only fix what needs fixing). ;)

Good idea.
Here's some tree-names that (in my opinion) sound memorable enough to be a track name, without being too common (like apple or oak):

Myrtle
Holly
Hazel
Tupelo
Ash
Aspen
Juniper
Spruce
Miro
Argan

well those lady names could be 1 of the categories egamad has mentioned

btw I think that egamad's idea is a very good one, everyone will know that all the eight tracks belong together but nevertheless every single track has its own name =)

I think we'll go for the poetic tree names this time. :shakespeare:

About the project, Dan sent me his square like promised, but I'm still waiting for Michkov, who wrote to me that he will make it, but I'm not particularly happy he took the liberty to overstep the bounds.. :really: But as he is working on it, it's no use in giving the square to someone else now. It better be one hell of a square though! :rage:

And could Alonsomania, OlafK and Areen send me their email addresses via PM please? Thanks. :bg:

I recieved the square from Michkov today, and must say I'm quite upset he did not abide by the rules. I'm sad to say he is not allowed to take part in the next project. The rules are here for all to respect, and I believe I speak for all if I say we want to keep this project going.

Anyway, the project is in the last, 4th stage, and I've already sent out the files. I expect great output from all participants, as I believe all of you are capable of finishing this project with style. :bg:

stage1: egamad
stage2: ACM, XYY
stage3: Michkov, Dan Hakulín, Martyn, Cristiano Bohessef
stage4: Mr.J, Areen, Alex, preetzertrain, AleksiNir, OlafK, maxi17, Alonsomania
Reserves: Paw, S. Manzur, Bouncebackability, Speedy47, mplume, Buka

I know i've made mine so it will be within the next 2 weeks. I would like it if Egamad shows us the current progress so we know who has yet to make their pieces.
