Actually not all ovals must look like a big '0'. Oval may have 3, 5 or even more turns, not 4 (even not all in same direction), that's only related to shapes, not to mention bankings, radiuses, inner or outside layouts etc etc (JE even once did a road course all around oval with pits and grid inside it, so used oval as a stage set). Yes, it looks like a difficult task, but that's attractive point for me, makes me curious. The limits are really not as narrow as it seems at first, depends only on our skill, so where are our borders? :)

Anyway, I'm ready for any sort of track! :bg:

Positions are filling up faster than I thought they will. Only 1 free square left, get it while you still can! If anyone doesn't get their chance now, they'll be put on the reserves list and will have a place at the next project waiting for them to take. ;)

We are ready to start the project now, all we need is the track type. Everyone, what track type should we go with then?

I think that it would be better, if the track wasn't an oval track. Otherwise I'm ok with any other type of track :)

Here we go, the Joint Effort Tree project number 4 has officially started! :goal: Moreover, the first square has already been made, so we're already in stage 2.
Below is the working plan with all production stages and corresponding participants (in alphabetical order, the real working order is for my eyes only  ).

stage1: Paw
stage2: XYY, Areen
stage3: ACM, Bouncebackability, Mad Dan, Trigger Happy
stage4: CamrosX, cocney, egamad, Emil the ZWW, FRUKIScze, Mr.J, puttz, Scholl

Reserves: Martyn

If anyone wishes to sign up as a reserve, be my guest. Also, those who don't get their turn now, will have a reserved position in the next project. :)

I urge all newcomers to read the rules, if they still haven't done so. And would puttz, cocney, FRUKIScze and Scholl send me their email addresses over PM, please?

Do we show the work now? IIRC in previous projects we didn't

I've checked in the rules and

XYY is right, we've always shown the starting square to spark some interest, then the following squares remain a mystery until the pack is released. ;)

Looks nice, Paw. :bg:

However I must admit I'm not extremely excited by the idea of making a roa, which is theme of both latest finished JEA and current almost finished JE.

I didn't even think of that, but it was the obvious choice for me, since we haven't had a road course yet and I didn't think an oval was a good idea. But don't worry, the current JE is just about to finish and we surely have a few weeks before release, so a good road course will be more than welcome then. ;)

I'll jump in as a reserve if needed :)
Hannu, who art in Finland, Räbinä be thy name. Sim racers come, races are won, at Agari, as at Xupong. Give us this day our version 1.06, and forgive us all our impatience, as we race those who challenge against us. Lead us not into boredom, but deliver us from work. For thine is the GeneRally, and the AI, and the race cars. Amen!

stage4: CamrosX, cocney, egamad, Emil the ZWW, FRUKIScze, Mr.J, puttz, Scholl

I'm still waiting for 2 tracks, and both trackmakers were working on their squares the last I heard from them. But yes, this is getting kind of ridiculous, so if I don't recieve the squares till this weekend, we'll mobilise our reserve commandos. :nippon:

Definitely egamad, 3 weeks is getting a bit ridiculous for a square!

After such a promising start, we totally hit the brakes in this stage... but on the other hand, 3 out of 4 trackmakers took this long (I recieved the second square a few days ago), and, in a weird way, I'm glad that those 3 were in the same stage. Trackmakers of the last stage will hopefully pick up the pace.

I'm a bit concerned about Trigger Happy though, because he said he was sick and he hasn't been active here on the forum since 20th of April. :worried: Does anyone have any news about him?

Oh dear, I had noticed I've not seen any posts by him which is very uncommon. :worried:

I am pretty shocked to learn I was not the only one taking this long. I really thought I was the last man holding the project back.

I hope nothing happened to Ivo too. :worried:

I think that Ivo is seriously sick, maybe in hospital. I think that reserves should start if Ivo doesn't answer today.
