[cir] [rwl] Sepang

Hello guys.
This is my version of Sepang. Of course it won't be as good as Maciej1's version but what do you think. I have watched a 2002 pole lap, a 2004 pole lap, an rfactor video and google earth to help me find where everything goes such as the track logos and palm trees. Also, i have added a poll but anything below a 4 will not be accepted UNLESS you come clean and admit it in this thread.

well, its cleaner than australia was to begin, which is an improvement. i can see details which you have picked up on. through videos like i suggested before. so  but theres still a lot for you to learn...

The main issue i have is the track width. i know sepang is wide, but yours still varies a lot. when you create the track, how do you go about drawing the layout. do you use trackeditor of paint? do you draw the tarmac first or the white lines? do you use the same width brush throughout and draw it in one go, or do you use a smaller brush and draw it in say two goes (each side of the track)? you also must not be afraid to delete a large chunk of layout if it doesnt fit well to begin, and redraw it.

the easiest way to solve the above problem however is to learn how to use snakeditor like Manzur said. and if its confusing, try an older version. i still only use v1.10

But it is better than melbourne was, keep practicing and it will get there :bg:

Ok guys who voted one? Who did it? :(
And yeah, i need a snakeditor tutorial because it's too confusing for me.

Did you draw this layout by hand in paint? It's uneven enough to look like that. In total honesty I think you should scrap this track and start from scratch, because the objects are a mess and unrealistic, the HMAP is very odd, the pitlane is an afterthought and there's no dithering. Also, don't be afraid to play with the zoom/view angle ;)

i just feel this one is cleaner than melbourne was, and therfore easier on the eyes, perhaps it was just the white lines though...

Ok guys, thank you all. My original plan was to make every race from the 2011 F1 season but i'm already running behind and i'd suffer from burnout from making each one so i'm only going to make Monaco and Suzuka now. (maybe Jaypee aswell).

There's really no other choice than to vote for under average because of the high average bar the GR tracks have these days.

This is definitely an improvement from Australia.

The biggest problem is the layout. The track width changes too drastically, the corners are too tight or too easy, they don't follow the real track too well. There is no hmap that would follow the real track, but there is that strange bump which shouldn't be there on the bottom. The pitlane doesn't resemble the real track at all. Also, the booths and the pit buildings aren't too safe since they have these 45+ degree angles with the track. I'm quite surprised how you didn't really do anything for the outside of the track, since that was something you did best on Australia. Now it is just empty.

There is still a lot to be improved, but you are improving. :)

I'd suggest you to do a couple of your own tracks instead of trying to do RL tracks, since when it comes to RL tracks, the expectancy of quality is very high.

Not nice. :(

Also, I'd give it a 4. The consistency of the width is just awful.

I voted 3.

Seriously, if you watch the tracks released these days I could not give a higher grade.
It doesn't mean that the track is that awful, the average quality of tracks is just so high nowadays.

At first, you need to make the layout to look more neat and consistent in width. It really does make the track look better. After that comes the scenery: Try to reduce the amount of stands and sand traps, even if you won't make your track to look exactly like the real one. Also, take a look at some great track makers' tracks to get some ideas to be creative. There is surprisingly many little details outside the tracks also in real ones :)

You still seem to have potential, but you need to improve basic things first and move into details step by step. Don't stop trackmaking!
