Here's a new track to celebrate the upcoming new year
Well, it's just another typical circuit of mine. I tried to keep a style pretty similar to Out on park in it.
Enjoy and have fun!

Re: [cir] Tarkus
the tire tracks in the grass are very great.
the circuit as a whole looks very good but the last runoff (in the middle) closes too much for my taste. I would enlarge it.
and it is useless to write pit, I think when you're a race driver, you know where are the pits...

I personally dont like that bit, whats wrong with leaving a bit of open area now and then. The track as a whole is great, but it does feel that every space had to be filled. IMO 3 of those haybales on the exit of the last turn don't have to be there for example, and while there is a 'space' inside turn 4, its obscured by a tree, its just nice to have a bit of open-ness at times.Glen wrote:the tire tracks in the grass are very great.
but that isn't to say i don't like it, i think its fantastic

Re: [cir] Tarkus
Thanks for the comments both of you
I actually have an evolution track WIP with lot of open areas. I think I could try to finish that track next.
Well, I indeed could have left more open areas. I got a similar feeling with forests at one point of making, so I made some gaps to forests (they were very dense at that moment). I guess that I should have done that more and apply it to other areas also.Bouncebackability wrote:whats wrong with leaving a bit of open area now and then. Re: [cir] Tarkus
IMO one of the best tracks recently.
The textures are great, I especially love the kerbs and the muddy trails really spice up the whole track. Unlike BBA I think this track looks good crowded as it is, probably because it's well balanced. I'm not saying that empty spaces wouldn't look good, but I personally don't miss any.
It's a great track, good to drive but hard to master. keep it up!

I wanted to achieve that with layout/hmap, so nice to hear it And nice to have also a different opinion about open areas.egamad wrote:good to drive but hard to master.

Re: [cir] Tarkus
I think, that there's too much of the muddy paths. It really is nice detail, but this time over-used. On contrary I'd add a tarmac or sandy runoff to the last curve instead of those diagonal hay bales.
And like I mentioned somewhere not long ago, I'd like also some hay bales or soft wall in runoffs to soften the impacts there. If you don't intend to do so, then it sometimes safer to leave the area wall-less.
